  1. You don't know haw happy this has made me. Last week I found a Fender short scale urban gigbag on ebay for £20 + a fiver for delivery. It turned up today and it looks brand new. I can't see any wear or evidence of use at all. I now have a matching pair for whenever I'll take a couple of mustangs to a gig where I'll be driving & won't need the hardcases.
  2. I tried one of these once. I did expect it to be fairly heavy but I recall it actually being fugging heavy.

  5. There's no greater feeling than standing in front of a great sounding stack (in my case Ashdown ABM600 evo iv & a pair of cabs) dialled in and cranked up, playing a tight groove with a decent drummer, with a breeze on your back from the speaker displacement, and every note being felt through the floor.

  7. My newly acquired squier classic vibe competition mustang came from the previous owner upgraded with a pickup from a vintera mustang and CTS pots. The soldering job wasn't the best - I've improved some of the connections by reflowing the existing solder and adding some extra, but I will probably remake the loom at some point to make it look a bit prettier. Surprisingly the original jack socket was still in place so I replaced it with a switchcraft from my bits box. Also surprisingly, the CTS pots used were splined split shaft pots rather than the solid shaft type which fit the knobs best, and one half of the shaft on tone pot had snapped off so the knob couldnt be fitted. I was originally going to replace the pot but instead built up the shaft using two part epoxy putty (milliput). I also filled in the gap between the halves of the volume pot to strengthen it. The knobs are easy to fit now and there's no danger of half the shaft breaking off again.
  8. Even Ray Charles wouldn't have mistaken that for a Fender
