  1. Rather than swapping strings when you no longer want the brighter clank of rounds, you should use the eq on your amp to roll off some upper mids and treble to get a more flatwound sounding tone — that is what it's there for.
  2. Three Times A Lady — Commodores
  3. Joan of Ark — Leonard Cohen
  4. My first drum machine was a korg KPR-77, later I upgraded to a Yamaha RX-21, then an RX-11 with an RX-21L (Latin) This was in the 80s/early 90s and the hardware machines are now long gone. Now I only use the drummers included with Logic Pro X
  5. I'm happy to share my coke and hookers with you:

  21. I've swapped several compressors and dirt pedals on and off my board, and I'm finally happy with the pairing of the BC-1X and BB-1X. I particularly like that the LED metering on the BC-1X makes it very easy to set up.
  22. To get a feel of what a short scale such as a mustang might be like to play, tune your bass down two semitones and put a capo on the second fret. I play mustangs (currently own five) they're my favourite bass, especially the JMJ roadworn. The orange vintera II looks rather tasty and I have one of the orange squier classic vibes which is a very nice cheaper option.
  23. Oh Ship! — The Buzzcocks
  24. I use flats so I probably do it differently each time — I can't remember. When I get a new bass though, I usually take all the strings off and treat the fingerboard as appropriate before putting on a set of flats. Am I the only person who makes sure a bass is spotlessly clean when selling it?
