I got the refund on my visa card after returning the Odyssey, althought the £12 cost to courier it back to the shop was send in the form of a postal order — I probably haven't seen one of those since xmas 1980. I was amazed to see it back on the CC website for sale, but now there's the caveat that one key doesn't work, but no reference to the issue I experienced. I doubt the issue I found has been fixed if there's now a dead key (I certainly didn't find a dead key in the couple of days I had it) — surely if a tech has fixed and serviced it all the keys would be working. Oh well.

I've just thought of something I'd like Fender to do — make the JMJ mustang in more colours, eg aged olympic white or shell pink. They'd look great next to my black one and two daphne blue ones. I suppose I should really get another black one so I can have one with the pearl pickguard and one with the black pickguard fitted.

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
Here's my new (almost) All Boss board I have replaced my Pedaltrain nano plus with a Harley Benton Spaceship Power 50C. This has the PSU with isolated 9v outputs built into the board and it connects to the mains via a kettle lead. Some of the outputs can be switched to 12 or 18V, and it has USB-A & USB-C outputs on the back for charging your phone etc. The bag it comes with is absolutely perfect and it also comes with every power adaptor cable you could imagine. I fitted a Harley Benton SpaceShip Pedalboard Blue LED strip to the bottom front of the board as I think it looks rather good. My boss pedals are TU-3 tuner SY-1 Synth - for doubling bass with cool 60s organ LMB-3 Bass Limiter Enhancer - always on ODB-3 Bass Overdrive with Monte Allums mod - for when I want to add a bit more dirt to what I already get from my Ashdown ABM600 Evo iv CEB-3 Bass Chorus - arrived today, I'm sure I'll find a job for it in the setlist Then half on/half falling off the end the board is my trusty thumpinator. Not sure whether I still need this with the ABM600 though. -
I have just added a CEB-3 to my (almost) all-Boss pedal board and the first thing I had to do after taking it out of the box was to remove the bottom plate and heat up the rubber foot with the wife's hairdryer so I can peel it off and replace it with velcro. I think boss could make it easier for people to fix their pedals to a pedalboard. Self-adhesive velcro doesn't stick well to the rubber foot of Boss pedals. If they wanted to make me happy, they could either supply a second plain bottom plate or supply the self-adhesive rubber foot unattached, along with a similarly shaped piece of self-adhesive velcro so you have the choice of which to fit.

Shame we didn't get to see Darryl in the video — I think next year he'll have been in the band for as long as Bill was.

How much do you spend on strings
Jean-Luc Pickguard replied to JoeEvans's topic in General Discussion
The sets I 've bought most recently are D'addario Chromes ECB81M for the mustangs and the Starfire, Ernie Ball Cobalt flats on the thunderbirds. I paid around £50 a set for the chromes & around £40 for the cobalts. My precisions and other basses are okay with what they already have - mostly 10 year old thomastic JF344s -
This doesn't bode well

I once had a delivery of books delivered into the wheely bin on bin day. By the time I saw the card they were long gone. -
Lovely looking thing; I had been admiring it on the gallery website.
