Last gig was Magnum in Newcastle, excellent, Catley and Clarkin are 68 and 69 and still do a cracking job, Al Barrow the bassist is really accessible on facebook and a decent bloke to boot!
Couple of pics of the progress sent by Chris yesterday, first is the one piece Ash and the second is a pic of one or two clamps holding the top and bottom together, think he might be struggling with only a couple of clamps though

Only 2 1/2 months to wait now

This is a really nice piece of timer - I really like the patternation around the bottom half but aren't you going to be in danger of losing most of this underneath the bridge and pick up? IMHO it could be worth moving the body further up to keep this.
Hope you're able to cope with the wait....

Im going to leave it all to Chris`s expert judgement with regard to body positioning on the timber and its only getting a single pickup so not too much grain will be hidden, as for the wait....its only another 3 months out of 50 years to wait haha
A little bit of info, if your routing isnt deep enough for the long pole piece studs these use, just hacksaw the bottom off till theyre flush with the magnets, it makes no difference to the tone or output, ive done it.

Nice well built basses. Very large necks however.

Cant agree with you there, i suppose compared to the waiflike SR series they are but I dont find mine particularily large and this is coming from someone who cant get away with a P neck.
Nice..I do like the ATK`s I picked up a mint ATK200 for a mere 120 notes a month ago, its the one with the triple pickup and Ive got so say its one of the most versitile basses Ive got, Ive strung mine with Fender flats basically cos I like the strings, heaviest bass Ive got though but theyre a very underrated bass.
im paying £2k+ for my custom birthday bass, am I an awesome player worthy of such an instrument ....Nope.....can I afford it ...yes, even after my recent unemployment state! do I give a rats arse that im getting a bass thats worth way more than my talent could ever justify?............nope.
