Ive taken to practicing at home on the Blacktop Jazz i built up and keep my Westone Quantum in a constant state of detune for the detuned songs

I turned up, 4 bass`s in the back of the car, stood in the entrance to the room money in hand, people looked round and went back to what they were doing. I turned round and went home.

Westone Quantums arent clanky...well mine isnt anyway.

Aldi or Lidl do them sometimes in their deals of the week, our old guitard used to pile all his gear on to one, it was pretty canny.

Im 50 in September with an Alpher Cobia on its way to celebrate the occasion.

What about a multi fx unit instead of an amp, get one with mp3 input and phones and your sorted.

I would try and get a second hand fretless neck rather than defretting as you can always switch it back if you wanted to sell it on. Get the Squire as planned or why not get a fretless Squire?

13, i got the Lars question wrong

The band i started 2015 have disbanded in november but im rehearsing with an all new band at the moment so hopefully i`ll be going out entertaining people and enjoying myself again early next year, also the possibilty of an AC/DC tribute band with the same lads with a fat Angus provisionally called KFC/DC (my name suggestion) I just enjoy playing and i dont mind taking the micky out of myself one bit, its all about smiles on faces at the end of the night.

I was never a Specials fan or anything from that genre but he made other people happy and entertained them with his music for that I raise a glass. RIP

Did you change to a heavier string gauge when you had it switched? looks to me to be the same as Geoff has said, give the truss rod a tighten and see if its any better, there are some very good youtube tutorials and its not as daunting a job as you may think (unless its siezed).

my Hohner and my Westone suffered from this and a liberal dose of coppaslip then maxing out the tuning both ways (without strings) to get the threads covered sorted it out.

Bought a pedalboard from Martyn, no problems whatsoever, good crack and a pleasure to deal with. Cheers jeff
