1. As per title, plugged in everything today and all I get is the tuner lights flashing, it was ok a week ago at the last gig, ive tried to google the problem but there are no hits for it. HELP!
2.
Are you sure she said 'Pic'..?
well it was after the gig and to my oh so innocent ears thats what it sounded like.....I did wonder why she went away looking disappointed
3. first time I heard him was the last time I heard him... not my cup of tea whatsoever
4. I didnt use to bother with spare pics on the mic stand till some very buxom wench insist i stuck a pic as far into her cleavage as i could, needless to say I now have a dozen just waiting!!
5. thank god its only a one off!
6. I like that but its such a shame they couldnt have just put an ordinary generic type of bridge on it that was easily upgradeable.
7. get a dremel or the cheap equivalent from lidl or aldi for about 15 quid and away you go.
8. just spent a good 5 mins trying to work out the acronym in the title only to realise the acg is spelt wrong! must admit thats cracking, i could seriously be tempted by an ACG lovley looking things.
9.
I was listening to Planet Rock this afternoon and heard some Black Sabbath, and was musing on what a great track I think "Never say die" is, but its from an album that was made as Ozzy was in and out of the band before quitting to go solo I believe. I remember when it came out, I thought it was a good album, but my mates thought otherwise. Which set me thinking about other albums from my youth, where I thought they were really good, and others thought they were, frankly, sh*te! And that brought to mind 'Harder Faster' by April Wine - the Canadian band, from which the video comes. It looks like it was filmed in Le Studio in Quebec - beloved of Rush in their heyday. Probably their biggest hit : "I like to rock" I had this on vinyl, and vaguely remember one of the sleeve pics was of the guitarist's frankly Nigel Tufnell-esque collection of about 40 Les Paul's : all on stands, out in the studio, and him standing in the centre like some squire with his prize herd! Can't find the pic though, and my vinyl is in a storage unit currently. What's your "Seriously?" album? https://www.youtube....h?v=YlcY_enzwmI
My first ever proper gig was April Wine at Newcastle City hall (1979ish) on the `Harder Faster` tour, supported by Angelwitch and Sledgehammer, ive still got the programme somewhere (signed by the support) and im sure the pic your referring to is in there, i`ll try to find it I always liked the track `Before the Dawn`
10. id go for a mighty mite neck personally, probably only 20 quid more but you know it should fit or alternatively find a squire jazz neck 2nd hand.
11. Whats the Caline eq like? Is it the same as the guitar version CP-24?
12. I bought a Caline CP18 off ebay just to try it and for £13 delivered its now got a permenent place on my pedalboard, not too much fizz and quite a bit crunch.
13. Buy my mockingbird, rip the frets out get it set up properly then youve got a monster sounding bass that is a bit different for peanuts!
14.
Clearly you need a BC Rich Mockingbird.....two lots of P pickups and definitely a body shape to start a conversation about. May not fit into the Motown aesthetic though 😊
Damn got there before me ☺
15. Ive got these on 90% of my basses, ive gone from flats to these and as mentioned before they dont feel as abrasive on the left hand, coating doesnt last long where i use a pick but it does up the neck. If your thinking of getting them use ebay, theyre £16, cheaper than anywhere else ive seen.
16. another bump? and price drop to £375
17. Sold my Aria Spirit to Francis, good comms throughout and instant payment. Cheers Jeff
18.
Looks cool! Makes me think Beluga whale.
A suprised Beluga whale
19.
Happy NBD! It does look less pointy than I expected when I saw the subject.
the headstock is quite pointy as it was pointed out on my 5er nbd haha
20. Its the Custom
21. Haha im actually thinking of parting with the ZZB but havent decided yet.
22. Ive been very impressed with my Jackson 5er that Ive treated myself to a bass id been hankering after for a few years, a Jackson Kelly Bird, yes it pointy, not too practical but I love it, sounds great and as im in a couple of rock bands looks great as well it hangs better than my mockingbird and my ZZB and way better than any of the t/birds ive played, its nicely finished and my only gripe with it is the bridge isnt as nice as the one on my 5 string. Here it is.
