1. Friday night burmp, ive decided i will trade for something either white (but not a p) or a 5er....... preferably a white 5er :-)
2. Woah...wasnt expecting this response when i went to bed :-) thanks for that Anth I am indeed in Crook, Co Durham. Forgot to mention, it comes with decent strap locks and a fender gig bag. I could possibly trade for something white (ive not got a white bass ;-) )
3. Ive not long had this but I just dont get on with Precisions and i dont know why, Ive ugraded the fairly weak standard pickup with a Schaller bought from off here, its in good condition with only the odd small dint and no missing paint. I can take more pics if anyone is interested, I will also throw in the stock pup for whoever buys it. No trades please I really need to shift some gear £160 I can post it if necessary for £15. 8. Ever since i bought the `Sounds book of the electric guitar` in the early `80`s with the BC Rich Bitch on the cover ive always wanted a BC Rich, then i saw the Rick Derringer album cover for `Guitars and Women` with the flamed maple top Mockingbird and it was like a wow moment that has stayed with me over the years, cut to 3 weeks ago and me being made redundant from my job and very very fortunately walking straight into another job complete with redundo payout! win win!! Fridays browsing through the B/C classifieds and ebay brought nothing that caught my eye but woah whats this on Gumtree, a mint Mockingbird Heritage Classic two emails later and ive arranged a viewing this morning after work. What a beauty it is, i know these arent to everyones tastes but to me theyre a thing of beauty, the previous owner is a member on here but i cant for the life of me remember his user name other than the `200 at the end of it, it has been really well looked after (sorry Chris ive stuck flats on it already ) and it was a pleasure chatting about basses with him. Anyway enough waffle it doesnt exist without pics does it! 17. Heres my current 3 black basses, an Ibanez Sr300, a bitsa P with body bought off Grangur and an Epi V with Hipshot bridge.
18. Bought a Hipshot supertone from Rob no problems at all, pleasure to do business with. Jeff
19. The strings arrived so ive lashed them down onto a newly built p bitsa, 1st impressions when opening the pack, are they rotos? i put one of each side by side and they look and feel very very similar but thats where the similarity ends, once strung on the p (previously strung with a set of Fender flats) i had to raise the saddles and slacken the truss rod a touch as they were dragging on the fretboard, theyre lower tension than the similar gauge fender which are in turn lower than rotos, win win as far as im concerned, they feel very nice like most flats do. Sound wise, not quite as bright as the Fenders probably due to the tension but perfectly acceptable and theyre certainly not as dull and thuddy as either status or picato. Would I buy more, damn right i would for the price i think theyre a winner!
