1.
Have a look at a Squier they should be in your price range anyhow back on topic GLWTS Mr Bikenbass
Cheers for that, but another bump.
2. Bought a fretless from Cliff. Very quick delivery and very well packed. Easy transaction, great comms throughout. Good chap to do business with, thanks Cliff. Regards Mark
3. ok, tried my OTB, BF Compact, Precision with a Behringer DBI21 at practice yesterday. I found the same result as the previous posting. Terrific sound, not enough top. As said in an earlier posting, dark bass through a dark amp into a dark cab. Anyone tried a Jazz with a pre amp through an OTB?
4. Not sure if this will help. OTB 500 Barefaced Compact (1x15) Precision. Like you found, bugger all top, loads of low end. The controls made little or no difference to the sound. So, bought an Epifani 410 with tweeter. Same result. The venerable Dood kindly played his Shuker through the Epifani/OTB and the result? Immense variation in tone with really clear tops and deep lows, fantastic. Almost the same result with a Jazz. The Precision was doing what it was meant to, just the treble rolled off before the Jazz and Shuker. I'll go through my Behringer BDI21 next practice, using both cabs in turn and will let you know the result.
5. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, type bump.
6. Hi, I'm selling my Precision or looking for a trade similar to your OLP, of any interest to you? http://basschat.co.u...nder-precision/ Regards Mark
7. Saw it at the cinema recently in Norwich. First film in ages where the audience sat through the end credits. Funny, heart breaking, superb sound track, great scenery, excellent film.
8. Bought an Epifany 410 from Pete. The entire transaction went very smoothly, plenty of coms throughout. Cab arrived in excellent condition with superb packaging. No mean feat when you consider the cab weighs 37kg. Thanks Pete for making it all so easy. There's a beer with your name on it waiting in Norfolk.
9. Price reduced to £350 Willing to trade for a lined fretless electro acoustic, or lined fretless Squier Precision, cash adjustment either way. 1998 (I think), strung with Hartke hex core round wound strings, giving it a nice tonal range. Very good condition. Lovely instrument to play. Prefer collection, or meet within 75 miles of Thetford, Norfolk. Reluctantly willing to post, but mainland UK only. Cash or bank transfer only please.
10. Hi Marc. I put an ad on partysounds.co.uk looking for someone to jam with. said pretty much the same as you have and after a few false starts, met up with a guitarist and drummer. Been with them for almost a year, we write our own stuff and have a good time playing together. They are way more accomplished than me, but seem to like the noise I make. As many other bc er's have said, wish I'd done this years ago. Just make sure you all get along and you'll learn a lot while having a hell of a lot of fun. Best wishes, Mark
11. Hi Marc. Have a look at Marlowe DK on YouTube. Lots of useful tutorials. Have fun!
12. Sounded like the opening to a Dirty Harry film with the jazz trumpet. Great work. I'd be intrested to hear your ep. Best wishes, Mark
13.
I think you'll find it was all Carol Kaye.
Whoops, omitted
