American Standard. When I was looking for a Jazz in 2006 I tried the Mexican standard, the Japanese '66 reissue and the S1. The Mex jazz didn't inspire me at all, the Japanese jazz was very nice and I would have bought it if I hadn't tried the MIA. I also have an Aerodyne which is very nice but it doesn't fit me the way my American Standard does. However, i do have GAS for a Sadowsky Metro RV4.

Lemmy's bass playing with Hawkwind was a big source of inspiration for me when I first took up the bass in the early 80s, especially the Doremi Fasol Latido album.

One of my singers told me the other day that playing an instrument is easier than singing because you don't have to remember any words.

Early 80s, I had a Columbus Jazz copy and a Carlsbro Stingray 115 combo. The Carlsbro had a 'Deep' button which used to make the room shake when I used it. Eventually I got fed up with carting it around and replaced it with a Trace Elliott AH100 and a 1x15 cab. The Trace is still my main gigging amp 20+ years later and now I have a real Fender Jazz bass.
