He was also a Gibson endorser in the 70s, advising on the development of basses such as the Ripper, G-3, and RD Artist basses. If you like Gibson basses, or Ralphes playing, check it out!

Andy Viccars has done some great stuff for me. He gives great instruction, and if you follow them to the letter, its hard to break anything.

Hey UK bassplayers I've just joined up... you know how it is, so many forums and so little time... Been playing all sorts of music, on my Gibson basses (EB0s, EB3s plus the odd EB2 , Ripper and Thunderbird) But i've also got a thing for vintage Guilds, Voxs, Epiphones and the like. Give me a mahogany set-neck bass and i'm happy.... Pleased to meet you'll!

I've got the coral blue SG bass. Paid close to £600 (including tax and postage) from the states. Its a beautiful bass! These were initially ordered for the Japanese market only - but they seem to be now leaking out elsewhere... Sounds great too - nowhere near the extremes in sound of a 60s EB3, but far more manageable in your average band situation. Even the case is beautiful....

Bolt-on or through-neck? Are they the only choices? I vote set-neck every time.......
