1.
Orville by Gibson LP Standard with Suhr Doug Aldrich pickups
Great choice of pickups. Just got an Epi LP Jr and put a James Tyler Hot Retro in it. Amazing.
2.
The white one is a new Washburn Preacher 'Paul Stanley' model.....and the sunburst one is an earlier Silvertone version of the same Paul Stanley design (one of only a limited number that made it off the production line before he shifed his endorsement to Washburn....)
Very cool
3. I wrote a thread on cleaning pots here Hope it helps.
4. Yup, you need to fill the fret slots in afterwards. Taking the frets out weakens the neck so you need to put something else in. You could use a number of things to fill the slots. If in doubt leave it to a pro as you could make a heck of a mess otherwise. I had one of my basses de-fretted by Jon Shuker and I posted the neck to him. Great work, great price. Highly recommeded. If you're near London, the The Bass Gallery is the place to go!

MTD

The non-US MTD basses are fine, just don't pay too much Have to agree that the Z-series look very cool.
6. I do like those Marseer's
7. Bit slow to find this thread, Hutton Love the shot of the basses.
8. The Westone's are pretty cool. There's are loyal following for them on here.
9.
Oh go on then.... any excuse
Quick question. What are the differently shaped Les Paul guitars. A Dean perhaps? Here's a few pics in the garden.
10. If you're think of getting the Ibby de-fretted can I suggest sending it to John Shuker. I sent my Conklin bass to him and he did a great job and the price was pretty good too.
11. Cool rig. Great to see vintage stuff that gets played
12. Go for 250k pots all round made by CTS who make the pots for Fender & Gibson. Axetec or Axes R Us stock them. I've used both stores before. The service is good and the delivery is pretty quick.
13.
There's a lot of knob talked about truss rods and it scares people.
So true
14. It would make a really cool travel bass or just something real portable to jam or gig with.
15. Blimey it's like an episode of McGyver I needed some stiffer foam at one point and found a pack of 3 abrasive block at the £ shop. I trimmed off the abrasive bit and just had the hard foam in the middle. Works a treat.
16. These do look really good. Here's hoping it's affordable.
17. I haven't forgotten about this, I've just haven't been able to get round to this recently. Next step is to spray some more white and I'll post pics when I can
18. Great job Did you line the cover with copper foil as well. If not, it's worth doing as it makes a real difference.
19. That's very cool (and I don't have anything to do with amps)
20. Doesn't this mean you have some cash spare to buy some more gear  The G.A.S. will return one day
21. If you heat the frets up before you take them out that'll help with the chipping problem. Save dust from sanding the board for the ships if you do get them. The only difference when doing a re-fret is that maple boards (usually) need to be re-finished afterwards. Ebony or rosewood are a straight re-fret.
22. Ah, Stew Mac. Great products and service. Stew Mac stuff has been my pressies for birthdays and Christmas for a few years now:D I have both of the items you've listed and both are great. The little fret end dressing file has that safe edge which comes in handy for shaping the sharp edges of a nut as well as fret ends. No-one ever notices that I do the end of the nut during a setup, but I know feels a lot better! I did a couple of guitar repair courses at the local college, I took along the fretting kit and had everything I needed to do the jobs. If you're ordering from there, the one thing to have a look at is the string action gauge. It's one of those tools that you'll wonder how you did without it before.
23. Personally, I expected a little more from the thread title. A few lights and a figured top as a special isn't all that. Just feel a bit non-plussed by it... Thought the Retroglide bass looked better than this.
24. There's a fair few of the early Seis around. I think I've heard of at least 3 of the first 10 going back to when Martin was building them at home (apparently). Like all the other owners, I really am proud to have a Sei. It's like having a fine Saville Row suit (and no I don't have one of those but I was struggling for an analogy ).
25. Never seen one of these before. Looks great and sounds like you'll have many hundreds of hours of playing. Many congrats
