1. I would say that McCain has definately had his chips. Sorry, couldn't resist that one.....
2. Can't go wrong with Streamers. My fave has to be the 2000 Streamer Stage I.
3. The basses on the Low End site is are amazing. My wife's in Tennesse at the moment, so not far from the Low End shop. She's already got one instrument to bring home for me already. Asking her to go there and buy me a bass would definately be pushing my luck

F-Bass BN5

Very cool. What a great bass. I love the way that F bass get that finish in the grain.
5. Wow
6. There's been a couple of used Sei Jazz basses recently around £1100. Gotta be a bargain
7. On some way, ARGH's responses are so memorable that we remember him and so remember what maker he was talking about. Maybe all publicity is good publicity after all.
8. Rob Allen's basses always look fantastic and have a great reputation. I think you're gonna be one happy bunny
9. More progress shots. The clamps are off. THE 9 STRING LIVES (cue sinister laughter) Now this is getting real exciting
10. Yup, you're right. The ACG pre does have screw terminals. On another note, you can order a wiring kit from StewMac in the USA. This has all the wire, pots, capacitors and instructions to wire a P-Bass. 11. What a wee handsome chap A budding bassist in the making?
12. Not my cup of tea as it's a bit busy, but it's great to a see another UK ERB. Would be great to hear what it sounds like and the thoughts of it's owner.
13. I'm really pleased with the progress. Both top and the fingerboard are quite busy, but they do go together so well. It's still a way to go, but it's going to be one heckuva instrument
14. New progress pics A new router base had to be fabricated as the neck pocket was so wide. The neck and body are now brought together and the set neck is glued and clamped. It's great to see just how well that spalted fingerboard goes with the mahogony top. I can't wait to see what it looks like when the clamps come off
15. Definately a great addition to an existing magnetic pickup.
16. Handmade BC Rich. Very cool indeed!!
17. Nice to see another bassist in Glasgow! Just to say that I have the Schack circuit in one of my basses and it's a great piece of kit. The dip switches mean that you aren't stuck with one eq which might not be suitable for a particular musical situation. Change the dip switches and the whole eq of the bass is shifted. No need for another bass or another amp!
18. What a wonderful instrument
19. Very cool Huge amounts of flame going on as well.
20. I remember reading something about that Klein-esque instrument which they built. It wasn't my cup of tea, but there was no denying the quality of the work. Be good to follow this build diary.
21.
Oh yeah baby!! I just had the best email!! I am on the waiting list!!! I'm drooling already. Paul wasn't able to confirm timescale yet, but at least I'm on. WWAAAAAAHHHAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! I know I put this elsewhere, but I know you guys will forgive me for being really excited!!!
Excitement fully understood It's good news that Wal is making a comeback.
22. Just had to add to this thread. I was looking at another bass forum (criminal I know) and found this YouTube clip of Jonas Hellborg playing a Wechter acoustic bass. It just sounds so wonderful http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=WelduVCB03g
23. I think that Warwick have found that players in metal like their basses and they've gone out to capture the market. Warwick now have a whole load of endorsers from the metal crowd. To meet the demands of the metal bassist in the face of de-tuning guitars, they also brought out the Dark Lord bass, a 4 string tuned F# B E A with a huge 175 string. I think it may be the only production bass with that F# on it (though I've been wrong before!).
24.
Also, I always found that putting a pad of soft tissue or medical dressing stuff on the cut, and wrapping a 1cm wide strip of gaffer tape around it to hold it in place (tight enough o grip, not tight enough to cut off circulation) helped. It usually would last the course of a hours gig before the sweat would detach the adhesive
and you also have a ready-made present to throw to the girlies in the audience. [lifts coat and finds door].
25. I think Aaron Armstrong (Kent Armstrong's son) does some custom winding. I've got one of his pickups in my Sei 7 and more will be in my forthcoming ACG 9. After a quick Google, I found that there's a website under contruction www.armstrongpickups.co.uk which says that he does do custom windings and repairs. This from the web page: Contact: Tel | 01233 822120 e-mail | [email protected] Would definately be worth a call or e-mail.
