  1. Now that is just sick.
  2. Congratulations chief 👍
  3. I‘ve often had sounds which sounded fine on the smaller speakers in my home office jump out and take your head off in a live context. The capacity to tweak them (at the Soundcheck, not on the fly mind - the knobs are too sensitive to do that in the heat of battle) is very useful there.
  4. I’ve never had any problems using standard string lengths on my Läkland which is 35“ scale, so I don’t think it should be an issue.
  5. @Quatschmacher is a top chap and super helpful - there, I’ve said it. Zach Rizer did do a FI video but it was well pre version 3 and quite superficial (that’s not a criticism, mind. An I n depth video about the F I would be about five hours long).
  6. I wasn’t aware of that particular metaphor - that’s in my head now 😖 😛
  7. Lawsuit era?
  8. I don’t know about the bass, but with the short blond hair he looks like the lovechild of commander Ed Straker and Klaus Kinski.
  9. I loved that quote from Tony Bennett in the trailer: Elvis (to Tony Bennett): "I read somewhere that Frank Sinatra once said you were the best singer in the business." Tony Bennett: "Yeah.... but what does he know?"
  10. Funny, that has exactly the opposite effect on me.
  11. I shall definitely be giving this a look/listen. Elvis is a fantastic musician and songwriter as well as being an engaging wit and nice bloke. Thanks for posting that 👍
  12. Not familiar with this outfit but thoroughly enjoyed it. His bass sound got me at the first note.
  13. Norman Wisdom? ...coat.
  14. Precisely. There‘s a useful saying in German “auch er kocht nur mit Wasser“ - which loosely translates as “even he cooks using water“ i.e. we‘re all human.
  15. I think I read the same story. If I remember correctly, at some point the keyboard player informed him that this was going on. Tony Levin says that up until that point he’d always been quite relaxed and had never thought about it, but from then on in his pants were full every night at that spot.
  16. My online application was submitted on Sunday morning just after 6 am. The money arrived on my account just over an hour ago. That's roughly 80 hrs between applying and receiving the money. We really do have a superb social system here.
  17. Dave Bronze fan here too. Both with Clapton and Eric Bibb. We played support to Robben Ford a few times in 1991. Roscoes Beck was a very friendly and approachable chap.
  18. How about On the Road Again...?
  19. I'm a freelance bass-player (currently umemployed 😐). I also do occasional voice-over work, which I'm desperately trying to crank up just now as I can do it from home. The German authorities opened a platform to provide financial support for freelancers at 12:00 - there are, at time of posting, 50,618 ahead of me in the queue.
  20. That sums it up rather neatly.
  21. Did a show in my regular lounge gig last night after which they‘ve closed the doors until April 19th. After that there‘s a show I‘m not involved with, so my next (theoretical) gig would be May 28th. All gatherings of 50 or more people are banned so I‘m out of work. Is there a scratching head emoji?
  22. My bread and butter gig, a show in a hotel 5 nights a week closed its doors after the show last night (upon order of the state authorities here in Germany) until April 19th. The current show would have run until then and I‘m not involved in the next production, so I‘m just a little bit screwed. It’s the nearest a freelancer can get to being made redundant. The city has banned all gatherings of more than 50 people so all other gigs are gone too. I‘m still digesting all this.
