  1. Next port of call will be a high pass filter. A parametric would be after that. I’m already at low volume. Any quieter and I’ll wear out my right hand (I’m stood right next to the drums, on the “wrong” side i.e. next to the floor tom).
  2. Thanks Chris. Space is very limited, so changing position options are too. It’s a semi-permanent set-up on a show stage, so a crate, even covered looks a bit meh. Gramma pad May be an idea.
  3. Hi all, I work in a show without an amp - instead I hear myself via a pre-amp through an active wedge. All fine so far. However, the wedge tends to turn the riser that I am on into a massive sound box, producing tons of muddy bass frequencies. Improvised efforts to decouple the wedge from the riser improve things significantly, however, I would like to build/buy something more permanent and optimal. Are soft acoustic pucks more effective or are the small spikes (reducing contact to the riser) better? Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Paul
  4. My name is Paul and I am a bass-player… Hi Paul….
  5. That is simply fabulous
  6. Love the poster …..as in the advertising medium, not Mr. msb.
  7. Will you lads at the back puLEASE keep it down…. SOME of us are TRYING to listen to the bass solo!
  8. I think I read somewhere in this thread that he has serious hearing issues. If that is the case, I can't see him performing with a band, sadly.
  9. Nice rig, lovely bass. And, between the hairstyle and the axe, if your band ISN'T a Who tribute, it seems an awful waste 😜
  10. Express Yourself - Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band I Gotcha - Joe Tex
  11. Fun fact, in the product description from Thomann, the word ‘Affinity’ appeared. I asked, and they confirmed that it’s the same part as is used in the Squier Affinity basses.
  12. Thanks @BassBunny, that thread is super helpful 👍
  13. Thank you Fretmeister. I realise that, I was just considering buying the parts asap and then fitting them quickly ‘cos I’m on the road. I am reluctant to disassemble the bass just to measure it because it still functions at the minute and I have to have something to work with.
  14. Hi All, I‘m on tour and opened my case yesterday, only to discover that one of the machine heads is broken off of my Marcus Miller V7 Alder-4 AWH (2015). Thomann need 10 working days to send replacement parts. My question: does anyone know if normal Fender or other parts would fit on a Sire Jazz or would that require extra drilling? Cheers, Paul
  15. In the Last 10 or so years, when looking at amplification, I automatically scoot down to the bottom of the spec list - how much does it weigh?
  16. I‘ve been meaning to ask, do you and the bear still keep in touch?
  17. Depending on where your gig is, what about just renting a bass there? Or, dare I say it, see if a local member of the BC massive could lend you one.
  18. Oh my giddy aunt! I’ve no idea how I managed to miss these guys for all these years, but I now officially have a new favourite band - thanks so much for posting that 👍👍👍
  19. I've just run into a bunch of her stuff. A great quirky guitar-player and fantastic songwriter...
  20. Doesn't that breach the terms of the restraining order?
