  1. I‘d say you‘ve answered your own question there.
  2. That’s sad news. Still, its good that he made the decision on his own terms.
  3. Obviously, I don’t know what these sound like, but I played a 3-p-pup Maruszczyk Bass once. Fugly, but an amazing range of sounds for a fully passive instrument.
  4. I‘ve been happy so far with mobile sheets pro https://www.zubersoft.com/mobilesheets/ It accepts anything as a pdf, including photographed stuff. I don‘t know, off the top of my head, what other file-types it accepts.
  5. We kind of had the opposite to the OP. We’re doing a Blues Brothers gig where half of the band have never met the other half. Due to availability restrictions there’s no rehearsal beforehand. In itself not a problem as long as everyone is familiar with the material and has their ears on. However, the drummer, who none of us has met but came recommended, went awol mid-November. No reaction to emails, texts, Facebook etc. By the time it became apparent that he wasn’t going to reply it was early December. Try finding a decent (no rehearsals) sight unseen drummer for NYE starting early December... 30 phone calls later they found someone. We’ll find out tomorrow what he’s like.🤞
  6. That’s the spirit, fill yer boots!
  7. Yeah baby!
  8. It’s a dead giveaway i’init? You are Santa 🎅 and I claim my five pounds.
  9. I played a show at 15:00 UK time. In Germany Dec 24th is the big day, so 25th and 26th are normal days for theater and show stuff.
  10. Rest assured, it’s a lot simpler than it initially looks. It takes a bit of getting used to when you want to fine-tune sounds “in the heat of battle”, but once you familiarize yourself it’s really pretty OK.
  11. I was very disappointed about 20 years ago when I saw Earth Wind and Fire doing this. They were one of the bands way back when who used to do it “for real” and to see them doing it made me a bit sad. I guess it’s because audiences have come to expect perfection rather than wanting to enjoy the energy and imperfection of a truly live performance.
  12. I don’t know if it’s possible to extract small sections of YT videos, but in this episode of Live from Daryl’s House (featuring the supremely quotable Joe Walsh) there’s a line between 37:12 and 37:42 from him which sums it up for me.
  13. Congratulations. 🍾 It’s nice to hear of good things happening to good people.
  14. I saw them a couple of years ago. The do not disappoint.
  15. He wrote some absolutely crackin‘ bass lines.
  16. I tried googling all types of knobs and frankly this isn’t the website where I landed at all 🤗
  17. I absolutely love my Squier Pro-Tone V. 2-pup Precision-ish loveliness.
  18. Sounds like something of a niche-market to me 🤫
  19. Aaaah, oversight on my part. Sorry if I got your hopes up there HappyJack. I just googled Joe Walsh Tour, landed on that website and neglected to read the small print. As you were......
  20. Thanks for all those tips guys. Loads to dive into. I’ve just looked at his website and he’s on tour in the UK in June and July of next year. https://www.joewalsh.com/news/297841
  21. I have always been aware of Joe Walsh and known that he'd done some great music, but have never really listened to any of it. I just stumbled over this excerpt of him from "Live at Daryl's House" and it kept me listening. All that is great about some of the music made in the sixties and seventies. I hope you enjoy it too.
  22. Isn‘t that originally with a pick? Which, if it is, would make it even trickier (for me at least).
  23. I’ve still got one of these (although I never use it) and to be honest they sound a bit thin and twangy. The effects aren’t exactly thrilling either.
  24. Good advice there from Shaggy. Just to re-emphasize his mention of the active circuit, John East stuff is highly recommendable.
