1. Here's a nice Bruce Springsteen story... http://youtu.be/Kkf9n-WQ5Ik
 2. Like many others said, a good composition well played and resisting the temptation to descend into typewriter-like pud-pulling. Good on ya!
 3. Yuwall jus don understand cuase yuwall haiders.
 4.
The Sadowsky M24-5 http://basschat.co.u...89#entry3202189
I looked at this just out of curiosity. Obviously I'm aware of Sadowskys, but not necessarily a fan.... then I heard that warm, thick sustain....Oh my word... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vJPaXhApBhA
 5. That's bloody lovely GLWTS.
 6.
Would love a fretless Precision - but one with a maple fingerboard... Bitsa or a real Fender would do the job.
Wishing you a merry GASmas! 😉 http://basschat.co.uk/topic/288789-197778-fretless-fender-precision-bass-now-l1000/
 7. Merry Christmas BCers and here's to more fun'n'games in the new year.
 8.
i have no desire to buy bass stuff now... or any music stuff anymore..... does that make me a bad person?
Yes.
 9.
For me, then, if I don't convert, I need a 5er with a nut width not exceeding 1.75". Any such thing?
Try this? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/294818-yamaha-bb5000a-christmas-gift-l-600/page__fromsearch__1 Disclaimer: I don't know the seller, I just did a quick search and found this. Ask him about the nut width. Good luck!
 10. I used to have an early 90s Yamaha BB5000A. Being as yammy necks were quite wide, the early fivers were in fact 4-string necks strung a little narrower. I gigged the bass for a year or so, but ultimately the narrower spacing got on my nerves.
 11. Yep, loads of fun. Thanks for posting.
 12.
I'm totally fed up with knobs.
No guitarist in your band then, eh? But seriously, a lovely looking instrument.
 13.
Is that a cut-down toilet seat lid?
If so, why ruin a perfectly good toilet seat to make THAT?
 14.
Taking our little 'un to his first panto this year.. can't wait!
Our 'big' girl turned 5 this year. I'm gagging to take her to a panto. Next time we're in the UK for Christmas, I'm definitely taking her.
 15. If you do fingerstyle with your right hanf (assuming you're righthanded) near the neck i.e. away from the bridge and then dig in, you'll get a similar effect. Stanley Clarke does it a lot. If you like at around 3:05 on this video you can see it quite clearly. It can also be effective without his phenomenal chops 😉 http://youtu.be/OOVasAri0kU
 16.
what happened to advent calendars with just pictures and zero calories?
Yep, I remember them and I remember looking forward to opening the doors every bit as much as my littl'uns do with their chocolate-filled ones today.
 17. ...or this http://youtu.be/QQCSg8p8bbM
 18. I like this guys openness to try out something new. http://youtu.be/ZbCMUCnL-IY
 19.
(As an aside though my attitude to Panto is a pound earned doing that gig is the same as a pound earned playing jazz or a session or whatever and deserves as much attention. Buys my Christmas presents for another year.)
I work abroad where they don't have the Panto tradition and I'd love to do one. Panto rocks!
 20.
He gives good bassface
Frankly he scares the bajeezus out of me.
 21. Maybe try posting in the Items Wanted section here. Maybe someone's got one they didn't choose to use?
 22.
Anyone know if replacement pickguards are available for the Sire MM V7 jazz bass? Fancy replacing my tort with a black one. Fanx
Not sure, but I do know that when I needed a replacement pot for my V7, all they could do was replace the whole control plate (including all pots) taken from another bass as they didn't have any spares/replacements. This was last Feb, so that may have changed by now. Good luck.
 23.
Let me just say that not all of you can be me... I'm sorry but thanks for the sentiment.
Yeah, but you're bound to say that now aren't you?.....all of you. 'sa dead giveaway innit?
 24.
No i plugged bass straight into the monitor via 1/4 inch jack. I'm an idiot.
With the best will in the world, I find it hard to dispute that 😜😘
 25.
Indeed. Although, it doesn't really say much about the Musicians who congregate around them on a gig.
Oh very gooood. Chapeau Sir!
