1.
I always had my suspicions about those brass players, you know. :taps nose significantly:

The YAS-23 is levelled at student to intimidate but is also used by many pros.
This may, in fact, be the only way to get students to practise.
2. Hey mate, now that the bass is sold, you're much more likely to have luck selling the amp over in the amps and cabs for sale section. GLWTS 😉
3. His Solo on Paul Simon's Nightgame track is sublime.
4. Yewwww beautyyyyyy!
5. Definitely one for that Flintstones tribute act I've been meaning to start.
6. I can honestly say that no one has ever asked me.
7.
Rhys, what else would be useful for the centre ?
+1 C'mon, maybe we can help out some more. That's what this place is great for.
8. Well done you. I'll certainly get myself a copy of this.
9.
Going to have a nap on couch now but put me down for the Swarfega thing.
No offence intended, but I'm not sure if discreet (or any one else here) wants to watch you wrestle in Swarfega.
10.
Yes! In the past, when I have searched, that is the only thing that ever came up, but I only had that one scene to go on and could never find any images or clips of it, and I don't remember any of the stuff from Sybil that I could find. However, I have just found the exact scene on YouTube. So, thank you, I can now tick that one off!
Glad I could help, but more than anything I'm just delighted to see this thread back in action.
11.
The other was very disturbing. It's supposed to be a true story. There was a girl whose mum would keep chained to a piano for hours and hours, and when she inevitably wet herself, the mum would take a hot poker to her insides. It was nasty. I don't want to see it again, but I would be intrigued to know more.
The film is called `Sybil` or `Cybil`? Sally Field plays the leading role. In it, her "safe-place" where she can open up to her therapist about her terrifying childhood is a large, overstuffed armchair she refers to as "the big chair". I remember reading somewhere that the Tears for Fears' album and track, "Songs from the Big Chair", are a side reference to this.
12. Fair enough, but it's a very lovely looking bass and you're a very naughty man for tempting me with it. And, just to make matters worse.... http://youtu.be/r6VIPCoJArg http://youtu.be/Vk96VlaynLA
13. Oooooohhhhhh, I managed to resist this the last time it was out there, and I blinking love it! If I could test it, I'd be over, but I live in Germany GLWTS.
14.
There seemed to be quite a lot of interest in it within the 45 mins I was in the shop, at least one person called up to buy it when I was in the process of paying for it!
Just out of curiosity, why are you moving it on again? It does look like a lovely instrument.
15. I seem to remember reading the term 'gank bass' on the liner notes of their album all those years ago. A good word to describe that sound, I think.
16. Is gruting even legal?
17. Nice.
18. Definitely one for that Flintstones tribute act I've been meaning to form.
19. I find that simpler driving grooves with space between the notes work better. Outdoors it's not always easy to control the sound and what the audience are hearing (e.g. if the sound us echoey or mushy), so the more complicated the rhythms are, the less likely they are to 'reach' the audience.
20. If you allow 4 notes. The same 4 (depending on how divide the measure) can be The Addams Family Theme or Great Balls of Fire.
21. OK. the pick is obvious, but oh so funky... http://youtu.be/Ll3uipTO-4A
22. You're welcome chief!
23. That's yer man Thundercat. See other thread in this forum http://basschat.co.uk/topic/286717-thundercat-anyone/page__fromsearch__1
