1.
I had a thunder llla during the mid eighties. My memory of it is that I toured twice with it over a Stingray. It was a great bass, well made, flexible pre amp. However, like my hair at the time, it didn't balance too well.
What a whopping mullet! 😉 Thanks for sharing.
 2. Thanks for that, only being as I ticked almost all boxes (i.e. no pic, mainland Europe and recently making the mistake of deleting a sale advert title) and not sure what constitutes enough posts, I was a bit insecure.
 3.
If they haven't bothered to post a profile picture and/or post count is zero, I close the ad immediately. There is a certain amount of trust extended to regular BC members but none at all to these fly-by-nights
On this very point, speaking as a "fly-by-night" BCer "based in mainland Europe"I have tried on numerous occasions to put a photo in my profile and, after the little wheel turning for about a minute, receive the notification "failed to set a new photo". It strikes me as unfair to be treated with mistrust because of a technical problem. Out of innocence/ignorance I have, unwittingly and having seen this practice in the forum before, made the mistake of erasing the title of a post. Dad quickly and without any finger-wagging informed me of my mistake and there won't be a repeat of that error on my part.
 4. I enjoyed that and liked the playing in all departments but particularly the bass playing. Thanks for posting 👌
 5. Any idea how the neck is attatched?
 6.
"If you don't like The Beatles please don't under any circumstances watch this programme." Shirley you are not suggesting that there are people who don't like the Beatles???
Don't call him Shirley.
 7.
Had a few nice guestures like that on here , and I've tried to pay them forward
I did give a Dean Markley bass-amp that I was no longer using to an ex-student of mine recently. Does that count?
 8. Stunningly beautiful. Thanks for posting.
 9. Down the cheaper end of the market, I tried a squier vm jazz 5 that was too chunky for my tastes. Not a bad neck just too meaty for me. Perhaps the vm precision 5 even more so? I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you.
 10.
Lovely. Restores your faith in human nature, doesn't it? Now it's your job to pass it forward...
Fair point, I will do so at the first opportunity
 11. Hi All, just a quick story that restores my faith in human nature. I have a bass on sale, both here and on Ebay small ads. 2 of the knobs (not the pots themselves) were missing. The bass is from the 80s and the manufacturer no longer make identical replacement ones. So, out of the blue, a bloke gets in touch telling me he has a couple lying in his spare parts box and would I like to have them for the cost of postage. As if that's not nice enough, when I sent him my address and asked where I should send the money to (my intention was to have added a few quid to the amount, just for his trouble like), he replied that he was only joking about the postage costs and I could have them for free. The knobs arrived yesterday and are perfect. What a top chap. Such examples of kindness really makes life feel better I think. So, have a good one guys
 12.
Best not look at this photo then:
I don't know about the bass, but this one looks like it might scratch up that lovely slate tiling.... Just sayin'
 13.
Is it any good for metal?
Oh, he got there first, DOH!

I love the fact that, in addition to it "Being hand built with lots of the steampunk gadgets gives it some nice weight nothing light and cheap here.", it comes with a wooden case. Not for the faint hearted then.
 15.
I've got a song in my head since I saw the picture but I can't think what it's got to do with the picture. It's about a heart of stone???????
treat me nice treat me good treat me like you really should 'cause i'm [s]not[/s] made of wood and i do[s]n't[/s] have a wooden heart oh.... hang on....
 16.
And let's also consider the fact that "Simple Minds The Stranglers" is actually an anagram of Tightness Reprimand Smells.
That says it all really
 17. I was a big fan as a kid in the 70s and early 80s, but can't really imagine them without High Cornwell up front. I saw him on a local TV channel here in Berlin about 10 years ago and he was playing solo in a restaurant . That struck me as being a bit of a shame, although he didn't seem unduly upset about the fact.
 18. ,,,and no, I am not the seller artfully attempting to lure you all in
 19. Why don't we at Basschat all club together and buy the thing? It could be some sort of bizarre/sick mascot.
 20. The guitar roadie swears it was like that when he opened the case guv'.
 21. I didn't find myself missing a hook. I was just overwhelmed by the joy and feedom of expression of it.
 22. Great performance from last week on Jimmy Kimmel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkKhN590tN8
