1.
I play with a pianist who was originally a bassist - so thought is given to how his left hand and myself work together. Sometimes unison lines, sometimes harmonised, sometimes no left hand bass on the piano at all.

No left hand bass on the piano at all is the one way I could work with keys. Your player is as rare beast.
Quite clearly a case of pianist envy there, I think.
 2. I feel violated.
 3.
Happy Christmas BC'ers, I've learned so much ab out gear and playing on this site, so much gear I'd never heard of that I....
....now have terminal GAS for. Yeah, thanks for that. A very Maruszczyk Christmas to you all . Seriously though, thanks for some cracking threads, laughs, insights, ideas and the openness and helpfulness which is always forthcoming. Merry Christmas to you all.
 4. Hey there jml, you'd have a better chance of selling this here http://basschat.co.uk/forum/21-other-musically-related-items-for-sale/ "Other Musically related items". All the best, Paul
 5. Boys, please. This is a family forum
 6.
we wouldn't want that to continue any longer than necessary, would we..?
Oh Lord, noooooooooooo!
 7. By the look of things, you may have a bit of an Attitude problem Nice solution, well done.
 8. Based on the look of it, I'd say someone's already tried that a few times.
 9. Hmmmm..... it looks a little...... abridged?
 10. Robbed. Thanks for that ๐Ÿ˜Š
 11.
Merry Christmas everyone ๐Ÿ˜€
Merry Christmas to you too mate. Lovely binding ๐Ÿ˜‰
 12. Based on the previous posts, plus owning a Kala Ubass fretless, I recommend getting a Kala fretless like the one you're currently borrowing. As I'm sure you've discovered yourself, the Kalas are surprisingly easy to play and stay in tune with. The extra control you have over the tuning gives you the flexibility to "iron out" any intonation problems that may crop up. With a fretted instrument, you're stuck with what you get tuning-wise.
 13.
There is a rumour (which I'm pretty sure I got from basschat) that Marcus Miller's Sire affiliate may be starting production on a pbass in the near future but I've no idea on the timescales on that.
Ooh, wouldn't that be nice ๐Ÿ™‚ Preferably with a fretless option ๐Ÿ˜
 14.
I was just about to pull the trigger when it sold, took me ten minutes to convince the wife it was a bargain!, http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=181943122655&globalID=EBAY-GB
Looks like it's a bunch if flowers for her indoors then ๐Ÿ˜„
 15.
there are only two types of music...
County AND Western
Another alternative -- take songs from an entirely different genre and make punk/indie/alt versions of them. Yootoob is full of great examples of genre mashings, they can work brilliantly well and are a load of fun. It's a good way of getting punter-pleasing songs that everyone knows into your set whilst still fitting in with the rest of your stuff.
+1 This can be bags of fun. We did it with our gradually fading Disco band.
 16. GAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS!
 17. The ad was posted by his wife and it's a precondition of the sale that it comes with the unconscious guy. A novel new way to get a guitarist out of your hair/house/life (delete as applicable).๐Ÿ˜
 18. I suspect the mold was destroyed BEFORE this was made.
 19. Priceless ๐Ÿ˜Š You couldn't write it, could you?
 20.
I really like the look of SBL, and his free videos (on his site and YouTube) seem really helpful. But they all seem to assume some knowledge of scales, chord progressions, arpeggios, etc. Is that something I should know about before I sign up? Or something that SBL helps with? Often I put on a video about something that seems simple, and he drops terminology and names of chord progressions that means nothing to me, which can be a bit disheartening! Don't get me wrong - this is stuff I definitely want to learn. Just don't want to sign up just yet if I won't get the most from it.
I think there's a 30 day money back guaruntee, so if you join up and still don't find material that can join the dots and get you to the theory level to understand the more complex stuff, you can cancel membership and get your money back. Saying that, there is tons of material for all aptitude levels, so I would be surprised if you don't find what you're looking for.
