1.
Vintage: Proper hefty bass sound with bass played as it should be, as part of a rhythm section. Rugged and manly. Hi-Fi: Widdly-widdly twangy cutlery-drawer-down-the-stairs in your face inappropriate slappy solo nipple-rub for gaylords. I await the backlash with pleasure.
Once again Discreet sums it up tidily
2. Please forgive a brief thread-jacking, but does anyone know where to find old bits from "The Tube" (80s music-telly for the younger amongst us)? Only there seems to be surprisingly little on YouTube. Again, please forgive the direction change, Paul
3. Frankly I think it serves him right for wondering about out there beyond the fifth fret
4. Now, now, play nicely😊
5. I expect there's no fannying around with them.
6. For the Love of Money - O'Jays For sheer simplicity and coolness Once In a Lifetime - Talking Heads
7. At first glance I didn't even recognise that it was a guitar. Then I flipped through the pics. It made me smile too. Funny investment on the part if Epiphone though. Who would they sell it to? It takes all kinds, I suppose...
8. That looks yummy. Am I the only one here who would describe the finish as a, "Discreet's avatar" cream colour?
9. Now this looks like fun. It's not really pretty, but... the bloke looks like he has an honest face. Scroll down past the pictures and the German text. There's a description in English. http://www.ebay.de/itm/Cajon-Bass-Guitar-fretless-Bassgitarre-Bundenlos-fretloze-Cajon-basgitaar/191522599976?_trksid=p2045573.c100034.m2102&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107091039%26meid%3Defc9efb9b47c444e9743ec5954b5411f%26pid%3D100034%26rk%3D8%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D252033645452
10. Nice one man. Really demonstrates your point about how different players' styles can influence the character of the music. Also well performed, engaging and interesting. Good luck with your website Paul
11. So? It's an axe... Bumm, bumm
12.
We need to buy this, set fire to it and bury the remains so no-one ever has to see it again.
The poor thing has clearly suffered enough already. I mean.... look at it......it never chose to be made that way. It should be set free into the wild. Judging by its' looks there is certainly no risk of it procreating.
13. Bought a Badass II in gold from JJJack. Good communication, quick delivery and a good buy. Top chap, Paul
14. Hi Discreet. love it! Balls to the walls no messin' about and freshness not sacrificed. Thanks for that, Paul
15. Hi there, you've got this in the wrong category mate. there's one called EUB and double basses for sale. That's where you need to be to get seen by potential buyers. GLWTS Paul
16. Thanks for the feedback guys. Sorry I haven't replied sooner, I hadn't checked the thread. Paul
17.
Not disrespect in the way Blue is on about but having drunk people falling into you as you are playing is pretty annoying. I mean, if it happens once, no problem. Accidents happen. But last gig a lady full on stacked it into me mid song, i zero'd my volume and picled her up, then came back in. Instead of moving back a little, or somewhere else all togeher, she kept on dancing right infront of me. I had to move the position if my bass so i was playing it like a Cello she was so close. She proceeded to bump and knock me for the rest of the set. Super annoying. Not the firsty time it happened either! When there is a whole dancefloor to choose from, why stand that close?!?! Might set myself up an electric fence from now on.
Are you sure she wasn't trying to pick you up?😉
18. Thanks for the info Dave. (oh a-shopping we must go...)
19. Hi there, a question about the neck on the 5-string. Does it feel more shallow or more chunky? When I tried a squier vm 5 a few years back, I hated it. It was way too thick for my tastes. Does anyone know how the V7 5-string compares?
20. Pfingsten bump
21. Really? No love? type bump.
22. Hello there, an addition to the Germany list, in Berlin Alex Guitars. I don't know Alex's surname, but he's been doing my (and most of the pro musician's I know here)'s maintenance for donkey's years http://www.alexguitars.de/ Telefon: 030 - 24 72 31 22 Cheers, Paul
