1. Due to unforseen circumstances pics have been delayed, but you know what they look like.the marks on the side of the cab have just taken the colour off the vinyl its not down to the bare wood.Grill and everything else is like new.
 2. little giant 1000w,they have come down in price online.i can recommend ashdowns classic 2x10 neo cab, light ,clear and loud, would sound good with the lg.Or wait till febuary and get the LB30 valve head from ashdown who assure me that it will be loud enough for small gigs.
 3. you can pre order the LB30 head from giggear for £399 if anyones interested
 4.
hmm not sure. I use them with an East pre and the sound is big and solid but I wouldn't say a vintage tone. It is a Jazz on steroids but I'd prefer a bit more character and less grunt. My Barts with an East pre get there better, IMV. I'd give them a call ( Kent Armstrong ) on their 01233 number and talk it through with Aaron...
thanks for the replys. After hearing how well my bass sounded last night at a gig im not sure if i need to change them now
 5.
guess what yet another failure of my mb115 same probs as last time the solder on the inductor coil broke third time this cab has failed.not good
Sorry to hear of all your problems.I had a look at the mb range when they first came out and was tempted to buy one until i found out where they were assembled. Not really giving marshall a good name in their bass department are they!At least they have their guitar amplifacation sorted.
 6. Basically is this pickup going to give me more growl and volume than whats already on my squier cv 60's pbass?
 7. cant see my local Pre Menstral Tension store getting any of the heads in to try.they could not even be bothered to get me a cab!their loss got one £200 cheaper.
 8.
Yes, but still no pix?
pics will be up at weekend.
 9. snowy bump.
 10. just seen the RRP price of the 427 small block head £1939!!
 11.
Gave the website a good read, but there's always holes in that kind of info. I was actually asking them about how usable they think it will be compared to a small class D amp that is louder on paper. As you'll see already from the thread, some folks say it will be a lot louder than your average 30W, some folks say that's nonsense, I'm not sure what to believe so I just thought I'd ask for Ashdown's opinion is all. I also was wondering if they have a definite date for release and details of UK availability. Eude
they will probably tell you what they told me that its due instore feb 2010 and its usable for small gigs!
 12. with the eq off, input on 10 o'clock, output on 10 o'clock and with that cab ,it should rattle windows!
 13.
Been about 4 days now, I guess they're probably inundated with questions about the new range from around the world. I don't mind waiting, however the longer I wait the more they're pushing me into the arms of a lovely new Orange Terror Bass Eude
guess theres not enough information on their website?
 14.
Oh! Nice touch, cheers for that. It'a always good to see retail outlets with more up to date info than the actual manufacturers site!
That is on their website as a mini 15,its 14cm less in width than a 2x10 neo.what i meant was a compact neo 1x15 cab exactly the same width and depth as a 2x10 neo.that ones ok if you put it on top,but imo a 15 should be on the bottom.the mini 15 is made to go with the mini 4x8.Actually ive seen that cab advertised £100 cheaper
 15.
I emailed Ashdown with a few questions about the LB, but nothing back yet When I do hear back though, I'll post the info I'm surprised they don't put a valve front end with a Little Giant power section... Cheers, Eude
unusual them not getting back, depends if chris bates the head of sales is about i think.
 16. said this before but i really think ashdowns uk made abm range is better sounding than the new models.
 17.
Everyone here seems to rave about Wizard & if I'd have known earlier than I would have checked them out. Personally I swear by Seymour Duncan. I use the Antiquity range or SPB1s. If you want more growl I'd suggest an SPB3 from the Seymour Duncan range.
yea ive heard the same ones mentioned before.wonded if anyone had actually put either on the cv bass.

 19. Anyone changed the original pups on the cv 60's p-bass to somethin more growly?want mine to sound a bit more aggressive as its a bit lifeless and quieter than my vintage bass.Wizard thumper maybe or seymour duncan?Or can i get away with some really good strings?think i have got ernie balls on at the moment.Dont want to not gig the bass as its great to play and fairly light.Ideas please.
 20. i wish ashdown would make a compact neo 1x15,you have the choice of a mini 15 or the full size one at the moment.i suppose they would make one to order or stick a 15" driver in a 2x10 cab and adjust the port accordingly.
 21.
Sweet. I have the a growing urge to move to something like that cabwise. So do you feel you are getting more balls from the new set up over your old (was that the 4x10?). Tell me a bit more about the non eq option you are going with? what do you have stuff set to? Might have a go at something similar and see
with the eq off you can wind the pre-amp up more(you probably know that already)this gives a better sound imo.i had the valve drive on about 10 o'clock, didnt bother with the sub harmonics and tried the flat shape in then out to decide which sound i wanted.i know of a few people who dont bother with the eq,dont now why i have not tried it until now. Also i rolled the tone off a bit on my vintage bass.i must say again that with the vintage bass i had a more growly sound than my cv 60's p-bass which gives you more of a old school sound, still nice though. The abm compact 1x15 i was using is a uk made one about 4 yrs old.these are imo better than the new ones although the only difference i know of is that they are only 335mm deep not 420mm like newer ones. The classic neo 2x10 is the same depth(not as stated on ashdowns website!)as my compact so fits nicely on top.My abm 4x10 is now redundant and up for sale.If you can i would try a classic cab as they are not so exspensive now at some online stores and so much better!
 22. i gigged last nite for the first time using my new classic neo 2x10 cab with an abm 1x15 c hooked up as well, with my abm 500w powering them.the difference in the 2x10 is unbelieveable from what ive been used to.clearer, louder and brighter.when we were soundchecking the doors were rattling and things bouncing off shelves.however i did not realise that the eq takes so much volume away when its in.i can now get a sound i want without using the eq so now have more power.my cheap vintage p-bass is also louder than my not quite so cheap classic vibe 60's p-bass,so happy days
 23.
Does anyone know where they might end up being stocked from February then?
hopefully most ashdown dealers will have a demo one to try.apart from my local store dont count on it being febuary though,we know how new models get delayed!
 24.
WTF!!!! I heard it'll be under 40lbs too! I think I NEED one of these, assuming they're any good of course. Any ideas on when they'll be available?... Eude
it weighs 14kg,should be available feb 2010.They assure me that the LB30 will be loud enough for gigging.i will be trying one asap.
 25. word from ashdown is that the LB 30 watt valve head will be £399 when it becomes available.supposingly its as loud as an abm 500w head!
