Yes, I have also met drummers who make mistakes and can't remember the song . . . 😛

I am out. Washburn XB925 with Bartolini pickups. Actually, two. Two Washburn XB925s, not two Bartolini pickups.

Looks like I have found one of my unicorns! The day before I posted my list, I found two for sale on Facebook. 11 days after, I have a courier date, and just need to pay the fee. I am normally quite "meh" about basses - I like the ones I like, and so long as they both work, I have no real interest in anything else (apart from those unicorn basses!). So, thanks to @nilorius, I spoke what I wanted - and it arrived! I am excited.

I hesitate to share details of service prices, just in case their boss is reading this, but let's just say it is cheaper to send two Ashdown Acoustic Radiators together for a service, than one at a time. I also send an Electric Blue head with a faulty* power supply. I was given a choice of power supplies, the option of replacing any substandard components, and a separate sleeve for the head. Add to that a lovely little chat with the same Dave Green, and great sound, and I am a happy Ashdown customer. * faulty? Some clown had removed it, and then popped the amplifier into a cupboard as a spare. Anyone who has ever played in church will recognise the concept of the Donated Rubbish cupboard....

"Thank you".

For me, a fretless Washburn XB500 (5 string). Washburn made about a dozen fretless basses spread across the 4 5 and 6 string range, and all went to Japan. Also a factory fretless xb925 (I have only ever seen one for sale, in the USA), and a fretted xb925 (one was for sale in the UK on basschat.co.uk but the neck had been swapped out when it developed a fault).

I take the view that I need to be better than my bass, to justify an upgrade. So far, I don't feel that the bass that I have is holding me back. Rather, it is is my inability to sight read complex (or simple!) rhythms. A new bass won't fix that. However, do wonder if a better bass with a lower action would make it easier to play (say) Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - as it is, I do not have the strength and dexterity in my little finger to hit the E string on the 4th fret.

The perfect gift for your guitarist- a daily reminder that he should treat the bassist like a doormat, and walk all over you...

Perhaps you are thinking of mammoth tusk? What with it being extinct, it is not an endangered species, so can be traded (unlike elephant ivory). Example here: https://guitarpartsandmore.com/products.php?Fossil-Mammoth-Ivory-Saddle-Blanks-14

Had an afternoon power nap. Lots of nap, not much power....

24th month, or 24th year?

Seeing that plate in the car park at the South East Bass Bash, was what confirmed that I was at the right place.

BA55 ACG is available for £599, for any bassist with an ACG. BA55TRD is not available from DVLA , nor is it on a vehicle. Never issued, I guess. However, your vehicle can tell other road users that you're • BA55 AS F ••• (if you put the 4 plate screws in the right place).

Someone at Ashdown Amps owns BA55 AMP

The correct answer is "lessons". I know, because I have read the rules of the Gear Abstinence Thread. Do I win a prize?

Help sending a large combo from UK to Slovenia

https://www.packsend.co.uk/croydon/?utm_source=GMB&utm_medium=GoogleOrganic&utm_campaign=GMBCroydon Try this company. When I visited, they had an 8 foot tall 6 foot wide antique display cabinet, with glass panels, ready to be packed up and sent to the USA. And some paintings from some London auction houses, to be sent to the buyers, in Paris. These were already boxed, in custom made wooden crates. No idea what was in there, but it was 6 feet high and 10 feet wide and a foot deep. They offered to pack up my Arcam Alpha 9 amplifier too - in the end I just purchased two boxes from them. So, worth trying, I would say. -
Being driven by my daughter from my dad's house - she was picking up her spare kitchenware from there.

I am already there..... "Do you have a bass guitar that is 58 years old, but lack the authentic longevity to play it? Then you need the Memory Aging Service. With it, you can: Forget whether you are playing the album or the live version of the song Struggle to recall if this band include all the key changes in Think! Be totally oblivious that you fitted, and engaged a Drop D tuner You have an old bass - now you can play it like an old man"

For sale. Guitar, wooden. Usually in local Facebook groups, where the seller is genuinely clueless that the photo already told me that it was a guitar, and that 400 years of tradition and experience resulted in luthiers settling on wood (rather than stone, slate, metal, or animal bones).

When I went to join the website about 5 years ago, I registered using my Hotmail email address. Basschat told me that I had already registered using that address, so I got the system to remind me of my username. Bass Dinger - who knew! Certainly not me... I suspect that I picked that name because at the time I had recently put a dent (a ding) in my then-new acoustic bass guitar. I wish that I had chosen something better. And it amuses me that @Bassfingeris only one letter different!

Perfect - I will message @bartelby

So, I happened to already have a Power Supply Unit with the right specification - one of those multi output devices that allow one to configure voltage and polarity. @sammybeewas right - the piano sounds are really nice. And the keyboard feels responsive. To my utter surprise, I was able to read the music to Bach's Prelude number 1, having last played keyboard music some 20 years ago (and never the left hand). All that bass clef reading payed off. For a permanent power supply solution, these guys will make one up for me. https://www.electronicmusicservices.co.uk Certainly, I have not found one that has all the right specifications and which is not a kit.

Nothing available from Kurzweil, nor could they recommend anything. However, the manual tells me that the specification's are as follows: Electrical Requirements Input Voltage 12 Volts DC nominal, 16 volts maximum Current Consumption 0.5 Amp maximum From the manual, it is not clear which of the ring or the tip are positive or negative - two circles, the left with a circled +, and the right with a circled - I will grab a photo of the rear panel when I am home. Update: positive centre, negative ring. 5.5mm outer diameter, 2.5mm centre (according to the Web, and the chap from the distributor).

Looks like I got the price wrong - it was £59.99 and not £80. And the power supply is missing - lost in the shop refurb. So, I have been given a £10 discount. Thank you, Cash Converters for a stage piano for the price of a Bontempi organ. Does anyone know where I can get a UK power adaptor for a Kurzweil SP76?
