1. I would hazzard a guess of the preamp below the axeFX being a Sansamp RBI but it really is a guess.
2. If he is playing through the head to the right of him in the picture its a fractual audio Axe FX. Thats the thing in the middle with all the buttons.
3. Cant remember last time i did a list so: All Left Handed Owned Ibanez GSR 200 - Now defretted Awful right handed precision copy - Now defretted and silver with mirror ball pieces glued on Alembic Epic 4 string - Amazing bass. First good quality bass. Fretted Jazz copy - Was Gold Now natural with a badass 2 and Seymour Duncan pickups. Wish i had left it gold. to be refinished white. Fretless Jazz copy - Currently in the process of refinishing black Musicman Stingray Copy - In bits. Schecter Studio 6 - now defretted Warwick fortress MasterMan 5 - Amazing bass for death metal. Aria Magna 4 - Bought on a whim for £50. i don't need it ACG Recurve SC 6 - Unbelievable bass inspired me to get another ACG. Faultless H and K 7 String fretted. - First try at an ERB above 6. Not bad. Needs a new preamp. looks nice but is heavy. Owned in the past: Rick Turner Electroline 5 string fretless - Bit too Jazzy sounding for me. Could cop a good upright tone with the piezo. don't regret moving on. Traded it for Warwick fortress and a warwick amp Musicman 5 string fretless. Bought for a great price. Wonderful bass in brand new condition amazing Birds eye maple neck. - Really regret letting that go. Musicman Stringray in Teal - Traded for the Corvette as i was sick of the neck dive from my Schecter - don't regret moving on Warwick Corvette 6 String - loved this bass changed the hardware from chrome to black. Traded for ACG 6. Do not regret. Incoming ACG 7 String Fretted ' Only bass i regret letting go was the MM fretless 5 as it was such a nice bass but if i hadn't let it go i would not of got my 4 string MM which means i wouldn't of got my Corvette which means i wouldn't of got my ACG so i am overall happy with my choices. More than i thought. Oh dear.
4.
Sounds good! Though we'll not have much luck trying each others out (you lefty freak! )
Oh yeah didnt think that through.
5. Looking good. Love the Salace shape and i am a big fan of Holly. I cant get on with headless basses though.
6. Looking good Shep. We need to have a six string bass bash
7.
It's going to be beautiful when it's done mate! That fretboard is something else!
Cheers Dude. I am pretty taken with it myself.
8.
Beast is the right word.
Where Strides the BEHEMOTH!!!!!
9. Update from Alan. The beast is taking shape!!!! I love that fingerboard.
10. I would come again.
11. I have a Fortress Masterman and i would not dream of changing anything on it. It is the perfect bass for cutting through metal guitars, especially when using a death metal "clacking" sound like Blood Red Throne. However if the pickup upgrade works for you then great. I find the fortress one of the best balancing and comfortable basses to play.
12. Is the fingerboard asymetrical? I.e i mean flat under the E string?
13. Probably not much help but i know a guitarist with ADHD and he is brilliant so it can be done. I know everyone is different just trying to be positive.
14. I am not up with the whole John Enwhitle bass history but isnt that Dean just a copy of an Alembic?
15. If anyone is looking for a ticket for the Manchester gig on Tuesday get in touch with Paul 5. There is a thread in the for sale section. I said to Paul i would buy it but i have been let down with a lift so if anyone is after one give Paul a shout. If not i will still pay for it.
16. I was the person this was sold to but it dosnt look like i can go either now after being let down for a lift back. So if someone else wants it PM Paul and let him know. If not i will still pay for it because i said i would and i feel like a cock for messing Paul about.
17. I just checked the Almbic website. Go into the forum and join there is a serial number identification thread. http://alembic.com/club/messages/394/22072.html?1310202882
18. Send Alembic an email with the serial number and they will get back to you with the info. Looks ligit. It was made in 1995 and the W indicates its an Epic. Hard to tell from the pic but looks like a Walnut or Bubinga top and standard spec. The Epics are great basses and you wont be dissapointed. if you want to know anything just ask. I have an Epic and im a bit of a fan boy.
19. Just on the off chance my band have just parted way with our singer. We are a tech metal band who are signed to an Indie label but with bigger label interest and a mini tour booked for end of September. Singers must be able to understand or sing over complex time signatures and rhythm changes. Here is our Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/tbttbiggerboat You can google us to see some reviews of our first release. Any questions get in touch.
20. If this hasnt gone i will take it. Pmd
21. ACG for me of course. I liked the Warwick Corvette i had. I Dont really get on well with the Schecter i have. I prefer the ACG i have over everything i have tried.
22. Yeah its cool. It appealed to me because its something different. I also like the way it changes from one figure to a different one.
23. Right time for a proper update with anew picture of the book matched fingerboard:
