Dread Bass

Probably an ACG 6 string. It covers everything i need except for fretless but id live.

Ive never played in a covers band before. Both my bands are original and i am happy doing that. With one just been signed to a label and in the middle of organising a tour i couldn't be happier. I wouldn't want to play others songs at this point but other people are happy to do it so good luck to them.

I did the same with my corvette 6 and the difference was night and day imo. I am tempted to do it to the fortress too. I have never got round to it. Good job looks much better with the black.

15% lefty upcharge. I hate to see this on custom basses.

Thanks for reading the whole post BottomEndian. Yeah i play a lot its not always as much as that but thats probably the average. What can i say I have no life except playing bass and playing gigs. I think i will drop Alan a PM and see what he reckons.

A fair whack to be honest probably between 2-3 hours a night during the week then 2 x 3-4 hour practices with bands at the weekend at least. Still i would expect it to last between 9 - 12 months.

How long does it take for your ACG bass to go through it batteries? mine seems to eat through them in 2 - 3 months and i don't think that can be normal, i think i must have a fault. Does anyone know of anything obvious i should check? or do these preamps just hammer the batteries? I have the ACG filter preamp 18V Before anyone asks i do not leave leads plugged in the jack.

I had a vintage MM copy and the truss rod was badly fitted so it couldn't be adjusted. I am a believer You do get what you pay for but my g/f bought me it for my Birthday in this case.

YeH I too love the CC. I don't use much delay so it's perfect for me. I have never used a memory toy so can't comment.

Yeah the Fortress has such a dirty aggressive tone you can clean it up with the eq but why would you want to.

I also have custom project in the works just now. I will update when Its worked out.

Here are some photos of my main four basses. They are not great photos as they were taken by an iphone and i am rubbish. Firstly my main 4 string An Alembic Epic from 97. Its all stock with a bubinga front. It doesn't get used as muck as it should. Next up is my main bass for my band Taken by the Tide. A 6 string ACG Recurve singlecut with Amboyna front. Then for my other band BloodGuard I use a Warwick fortress Masterman from 95. I love this bass. Finally my 6 string Fretless which i use for bits and pieces. A Schecter Studio. This was originally fretted but i had it converted. Sorry about the bad pics Enjoy.

We got reviewed the other day and it wasn't great. We got basically got accused of being generic metalcore which we are not happy with at all. but the fact is this guy came to the gig to watch full on death metal. We play melo death. I took it hard fir the first half hour then thought stuff it. What can i do.
