1.
It sounded like they were having a good time - that's what it's all about to me. Depends what you want out of a band really.
Thing is, I'd be happy to accept that this sort of rehearsal is pretty fun, but I think the major issue (to me at least) is that they did this in a first rehearsal which is a bit squiffy to me!
 2. Oh god I need to change my pants! This rig is gorgeous, someone buy it
 3.
The funniest ones are those who hover half way up the room, and occasionally point and whisper, followed by a quick air guitar rendition.
Hah, yes! Love those!
 4.
Hi there - interested in some more information on the 6 string - bolt-on or neck thru, etc. Could you give us some full specs for it please? Many thanks! C
Looks like a 7pc laminate neckthrough to me but full specs are always good
 5.
Is there a 'Cymbalchat' anywhere?
That would be a delightfully specific forum
 6. *sob* my kingdom for a left handed version! Well, you get the idea Good luck with the sale, I'll have to settle for mirroring the images
 7.
hi all I have got an old valve amp which has got one 8ohm output and one 16ohm output. Is there any way i can attach more than one cab for a bit more oomph? I'm guessing putting an 8 ohm cab to the 8ohm out and a 16 ohm cab to the other wouldn't be right for some reason.
I too think this would be bad juju. How would the wattage balance for one? Will let more techy people fill in the details though
 8.
I'm always on the look out for Old 80's Streamers, its an obsession that wont end....
After seeing your two I'm equally tempted! Really wanting either another streamer or a thumb. Would love a thumb.
 9. This thread has already inspired me to learn more theory. Thanks basschat
 10. what I find best (as I can't improv for toffee) is to listen to a piece of music without my bass and make something up in my head. Then spend next half hour learning the first 10 seconds of it
 11. It'll just be that you're using a 2x10, I had the same problem until I changed to a 4x10 then everything cut through pretty well
 12. I dislike: Pointy bass bodys Pointy headstocks Painted necks Whammy bars on basses And not having control plates on the back But I LOVE this bass
 13.
Does anyone else have people turn up to gigs and assume that your amp is a comunal amp?
Happenned in my third gig, was standing at the bar near the stage and turn around and there he is playing through it. Just assembled my first head/cab setup so I was not happy to say the least! Cue "Oh I thought that it was the venue's". He could have asked the tech who was right by him if it was or not! Sigh.
Sometimes it has its advantages to be a lefty

Sometimes it's just sooooooo cool to be a leftie!
One of the few advantages of our condition My views of it are- if they know what they're doing (a bassist in another band say) then I'm very happy for them to try it out. I was lucky enough to have the cash and find the deals that got me my equipment, want to spread the love! Besides, you can't find Warwicks or Musicmen in a lot of music shops these days so it might be one of the rare occasions they get to try such briliant instruments. If they come away thinking "that's what I want when I have the money" then I feel I've helped On the other hand, randomers are a biiiig nono. Get to utter the immortal line "Well I would BUT I'm left handed. Sorry!" Gets more difficult when they insist that they'll play it upside down. No you won't. You'll stuff it up somehow. I know how these things go down and I saw the getaway car outside. Be gone from me demon.
 14. bad times man at least its for a good cause!

 16. oddly enough thats one of the few basses where I prefer the back of it to the front. The neckthroughs are lovely. Both are to be fair!
 17.
What we are interested in, and what we are discussing, is what creates the demand.
ah, my apologies.
 18. depending on condition I'd guess about £350-400?
 19. anyone coming to the Yorkshire bash? Don't want to be the only lefty again
 20. Will be bringing the Schroeder and Fafner providing Paul is still feeling generous Will also be bringing the Stingray and possibly the Warwick too, depend how much car space there is! Also, you can put me down as a definite
 21. If it's just for practising by yourself I wouldn't personally worry about tone too much. I mean I've spent years finding the tone I like in my gig rig but I'm happy practising through a rubbish 20w Axl amp thats probably worth about £20 I mean, why spend money finding your tone when all you're in your room and just need to hear yourself? Of course if you want to record through it that's a different matter. Guess the Tascam might help with that though?
