1. Another +1 for interparcel, dunno where I'd be without them. Hang on. Yes I do: in a poorer position. That's where I'd be.
2. try offering him it in a message. sneaky sneaky I know
3. just gets the thread to the top of the page, i.e. bumps it up there. Don't have to say bump- could type in whatever message you want- but if your main reason for posting is to put it up to the top again, I find its best to call a spade a spade
4.
if you want a rick-ish sound, a warwick $$ probably wouldn't be the way i'd go.... ricks have a nice mid-honk, something my $$ doesn't really have that much of, at least get something with a 3 band EQ. Also warwicks don't really have "fast" necks... you really want to try before you buy with warwick, seriously. They're nothing like ricks or stingrays (i find both ricks and stingrays absolute pigs to play though, so you may like a 'wick like i do).
Oddly enough I found that my corvette $$ had one of the fastest necks I've ever played! Each to their own of course Certainly agree with the try before you buy though, they seem to polarise opinion (I just happen to be a lover of them)
5. Just replaced the preamp in my streamer jazzman and as such I've got the old one hanging about. Please be aware that when I took it out the active circuit WASNT WORKING. I have no idea if it can be fixed, I just decided to replace it so it might be repairable I honestly don't know. Also have the knobs from it as well, although the top knob from the stacked control is missing so thats 3 normal knobs and the bottom half of a stacked knob. Gold. Not in great condition tell the truth. Oh and the switch for the series/parralel ooptions for the humbucker is dicky- still works but it wobbles oh so mightily. Anyhoo, all in I'm happy to call it £20+p&p. Bargain if you can get it workin again, and you've still got some Warwick knobs if you can't
6. all sold thanks guys!
7.
Hay Josh how is the Jazzman with the ACG
Versatile to say the least Need to sort out one last grounding issue and then it should be my main bass. Making me consider trading the Ray for another Warwick+ a bit of cash and doing the same tbh, its that good
8.
My 2008 Leftie Rickenbacker 4003 Jetglo has gone walkies while in the care of a courier company. I would love to hear from anyone who has been offered an improbably cheap 2008 Leftie Ricky bass or has doubts about the parentage of one they have seen. When lost, it had a Pickguardian black pickguard and various other 'upgrades'. The original bits were in the case, so it may have been put back to original, but I have the serial number and there are a few other things that will show me that its mine. Went adrift in silver Rickenbacker hardcase with all the candy. The guy who bought it from me is very keen to receive it, so any help from the leftie bass community would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Bob
Did this turn out to be the one on leftybass.com?
9. Hah! I was just on ebay and was gonna bring that up Always been intrigued by them as it seems there's a lot of bass for the money
10.
I've been reading this over the past 24 hrs (Inc other post), went to band practice when there was 3 pages here, come back & there's 8! It is a blatant attempt at fraud IMO but I do feel for him as he must have something seriously wrong with him.
oddly enouh the EXACT same thing happened to me
11. link that works: link Think if it sells for under 250/300 probably a good deal if in good nick. They're solid basses, not to be underestimated, had a 6er that was lovely Think Linus can attest to the fact on 4 strings if i recall correctly!
12. Trawled through my messages and found that I paid £425 for this just under a year ago so not the £450 as I thought. Not wanting to make a profit so dropped to that price
13. http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/1849/img0035zv.jpg only stood for about a week before the Tech cab got sold
14. in before the lock, I.e. before the thread is locked by a moderator. A visualisation:
15. its just a category called Musicman OR OLP
16. think he's got the links mixed up, wait for the edit
17. Action on most Warwicks is really good (at least in my experience). Might need a neck shim? Take it you've lowered the saddles at the bridge? Could adjust the nut too perhaps?
18. cab sold to our good basschat friend kennyrodg Shuttle still available
19. Welcome We're having a bassbash in Harrogate March 21st, maybe you could come along?- http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=70027
20. Hah! Yes managed to figure that out Gave Bernie a ring and he suggested putting a lead linking the out and in of the effects loop because they oxidise slightly or some such stuff. Will be giving that a go, fingers crossed!
21. Sterling necks are to Stringrays what Jazzes are to Precisions essentially
22. word! And knowing my luck it'll sound fine again until I need to gig it!
23. yeah already opened up the top this morning. Valves seems to be seated right. Found a wandering screw though which I tracked down to be from one of the circuit boards so now thats done... Annoyingly the rest of my rig is at the practise room so I'm gonna have to wait til Monday to check if its made any difference
