seems like a decent enough deal but I'm always tempted to say have a looks at Ashdown gear. At that price (£300) you can get some MAG equipment, or if you look second hand you might even be able to start to assemble a cab/head amp system

Always good to have another lefty, love the ATKs, they're in quite high demand atm!

I'd only do it if it was asstastic and didn't work. To be honest, I'd bring a terminal bass to a gig to keep round back and destroy on the last song. might be fun.
