1. link isn't working mate, also might be worth introducing yourself on the introduction forum *edit* just occured to me that the link might only start working at 7pm, so ignore that bit...
2. welcome fellow lefty! click on the link in my signature at the bottom (lefty market thread) and you may find something that catches your eye! *edit* mntl73's MIM Fender Jazz and Nevernever's Tanglewood Canyon II are both something that might fit what you're looking for
3. anyone coming to the harrogate bass bash by the way? there is a chance I can pop along and would love another lefty to be in attendance!
4. STICKER I think, hoping to be in leeds that weekend so there's a chance I can pop in! Any other lefties coming? And I can bring one bass so does anyone have a preference? Also, am I right in thinking that if you're on leeds road coming into harrogate you take a right down the road just before the saab garage on the right hand side and head down there to this place? Josh
5.
That looks nice. Would you be bringing it to the bash by any chance?
sold now unfortunately, sorry, kinda jumped the gun a bit there in my desperation! Would love to come to the bash but its quite a trek as I dont have a car unfortunately. My mum lives in Harrogate though, so I'll see what i can do!
6. ooh I'm intrigued! send the manual etc whenever man, I'm in no particular rush!
7. I like that a lot more than I thought I would! List updated- perhaps if people create their own threads in the main forum about said basses and then I link them in the first post like with nevernever's? Just a thought, anyone have any opinion?
8. yeah, tbh if you want that sort of effect, get a pedal for it, its a gimic at best imo, I know that I found it tough to think of a useable situation for it. Saying that, I had a Mag300 for a while and its a pretty decent amp, so good buy methinks
9. i just had major trouble selling another bacchus so good luck to thee
10. ahem http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=28311&st=0
11.
looks like a musicman, you should know you've got 2
well yeah I thought that initially, but the headstock, control plate and pickup look all wrong! This is annoying me now...
12.
You've obviously cross polarised the infrangic cock-truss array with the starboard phase cancelling inter-rossitor, resulting in an inverse dielectric transferance of the the dilithium crystal structure which should be 2(5)6 dilithium 2(i)l diallosilicate 1:9:1 heptoferranide. When finished and wired properly, it should look like this:
well if you want to do it the easy way I guess. Psh, all these shortcuts people take these days!
13.
Because lefties are soooooo hard to find in shops can I suggest that we club together to start a 'try before you buy' collective? I know we're scattered all across the country but if, for example, someone was thinking about ordering/buying a Thumb 5, then they could come find me and try mine out. That type of thing...
Can't believe I missed this part of your post- this sounds like a great idea to me as long as the person trying goes to the owners house and we don't get any abuse of the system the other way round. The only bad point I can think of is that anyone coming to try out my stuff will undoubtedly make me cry with their skill over me
14. Some pictures of dings, many thanks to Alan!
15.
Josh, I have some pictures of those marks. As I had the bass offered to me before you bought it. Let me have your email address if you've not taken pictures already.
ah many thanks, pm'd!
16.
Hmmm ok... I guess it s not the piezo bridge model? The trade seems a bit unbalanced then... May i see pics of the dings?
What trade? Pics as soon as I can find that chuffing lead for my flipping phone. ARGGGGGHHHH WHERE DID YOU GO?
17. Just got this as part ex on the Bacchus as I originally thought i could do a McCartney on it. I could not. Really nice actually, thought it would be crap but is quite a good playing bass. Only damage of note is a crack on the control panel which is difficult to see if you're not looking for it and two screw holes, one near the pickups and the other near the neck. I cannot fathom what they are there for. Solid black with rosewood fretboard, tuners replaced with schallers at some point Pics when I can find my camera lead Thinking about £150 as there is very little info on them and but its a nice solid bass.
18.
Eventually! How old is it? And how is the set up and feeling of it? I surelly could use a black beauty w/ a maple fingerboard
Don't think its too old, don't know for certain to be honest. As an absolute guess I wouldn't say any older than 2004. Its got 3 small dings (about 4mm each of them). As for set up, I've restrung it with elixirs and its great for slappin and fingerstyle too, but my new stingray is too similar to it for me to warrant having two of them which is why I'm moving this on. The neck is nice and small, although I've got used to chunkier necks so its not my thing anymore unfortunately. Really nice to play on, was my main gigging bass over my teal Ray before I got my Pre-eb, so i hope that gives an indication! Josh
19. urgh imagine buying strings <shudder> Saying that, looks pretty hot, though I could never have it strapped to my body due to my lack of adamantium skeleton
20.
Those cynically minded might wonder if you're promoting your business
not sure they're his?
