richard just provided the best courier service on basschat. through random chance he offered to collect a bass from shonks (above) in essex and deliver it to me in Bristol just because hes a nice bloke and happend to be coming this way. so despite never having bought anything id heartily recomend him. deal in confidence and thank you again for bringing the bass. all the best steve

yamaha bb1100s active on the p pickup generally all eq set to full. into korg pitchblack and dod eq for ocasional boost into oeange bass terror eq flat gain approx 10 oclock for a bit of growl into barefaced compact. i generally play finger style quite hard near the neck as i can't get our of the habit of trying to sound like Steve harris and the ox from when i was a teenager.

the other comment I've seen about them is toaster or non toaster pickups. is the much difference tonally or is it mostly aesthetics?

is not a definite want to buy at the moment but a want to try.

I've got real gas for a Peavey T40 at the moment but I've never played one. This is a hopeful request that there is a local (Bath/Bristol) bcer that has one that would let me have a try before i pull the trigger on one. on paper they sound like everything id like but it'd like to try one first. Has this event died a death? I'd still be up for something Bristol/Bath way if the Exeter/Dorset one isn't happening.

I sold it on for £50 cos i didn't need it but it was a perfectly good for a stater and I was tempted to keep it as a back up.
