  1. Thanks. May give it a go. Will let you know if I get any decent results
  2. Cool thanks for the feedback. I do have an xlr to jack cable but if it'll sound rubbish I'll have a look at audio interfaces. Thanks again
  3. Essentially has anyone tried this? Like many we are doing some recording as we can't play face to face. I don't own a separate audio interface so have been using my Zoom B3 into Audacity for bass and sending the WAV file to our guitarist to mix and this has been working well so far. Also using the Zoom in the fx loop so I can get my amps pre amp tone sounded pretty good. I've now been asked to record some BVs (not my stongest suit anyway) but all I have is the Zoom B3 and an AKG D5 mic. Will this do a job with the possible addition of a pop screen or would I need a proper audio interface? Cheers for any help.
  4. I love this track. An old one but a cracker.
  5. Poison by Alice Cooper. Hugh Macdonald's lines dont come naturally to me but feel it is improving my technique! Not the hardest song but some interesting bits in it.
  6. We managed one last gig on Saturdary before the cancellations started coming in. My sharona got re named My Corona and i think it could for a topical medley with Covideo killed the radio star. What other songs could be added?
  7. Sold
  8. Dave Hall VT1 EQ Bass Drive preamp pedal with XLR output for sale. This dates from 2009 and I believe is hand build by Dave Hall in Devon. It is in excellent condition and has a 12AX7 (I believe) valve which give a nice warm tone or a good bit of growl if you push the gain and boost. I bought it as the DI on my old amp was rubbish but have now changed amps and it isn't being used. Cash on collection preferred from Downend in Bristol and you are more than welcome to try it out but I will post in the UK at buyers cost and risk. Any questions please let me know.
  9. Stewblac. Are you in Norton? If you ever get up to Bristol you are welcome to give my T a try. Equally if you fancy a night out in Weston SM I'll be using mine at the back bar tomorrow night!
  10. Just bought some strings from Andy. Excellent comms and bloody prompt postage. I would happily buy from him again. Steve
  11. I have the tube version and have no desire to get another amp at the moment. I've had a few amps over the years but the most comparable being an OBT and a Genz Shuttle both of which would be double the price I paid for the Bugera even 2nd hand and to my ears is more flexible than the orange (which l loved) and better sounding than the genz. It's difficult to take price out of the equation with these but I have no amp GAS at the moment if that answers your question. 2nd gig with it will be next week.
  12. Handn't meant to offend any Bon Jovi fans so renamed the thread.
  13. Ok. True its subjective but song you don't like but then appreciate the bassline of would be a bit long winded!
  14. The main difference in my opinion is that you get a lot more time wasters and tyre kickers on Facebook than anything else. I've cleared a bit of gear recently, advertising here, gumtree and fb and and it has mostly sold through facebook so it seems to be the preferred method at the moment but you do get a lot more enquiries that lead to nothing.
  15. I recently winced when I was told I needed to learn Livin on a Prayer which irritates the hell out of me, but I've quite enjoyed learning the bass part as it is an interesting line. Any other songs that fit this category?
  16. Its handy if you use headphones but otherwise feels a bit unnecessary apart from managing volume at home. Does what it says on the tin though
  17. I have had the bugera for a couple of weeks now and have to say Im really impressed. I have used it at home and at 2 rehearsals (first gig on 31st) and it is a quality amp especially for the money. So for £178 essentially half the price of a 2nd hand equivelant powered amp (OBT, genz streamliner, mark bass etc.) With warranty feels like a bargain. I've got it paired with a barefaced 2Ten and haven't had to push it passed 9 oclock to keep up with the band. Great warm tones from the valves which gets dirty if you push the gain but not as aggressive as my old obt. The preamp volume is a nice touch and makes it more usable at home. I pushed the treble a bit to 3 oclock to get the tone I like but sounds good with everything set flat. Only minor criticism is that the mid boat doesn't do much to my ears but that is me being picky. All in all it's a bargain a d the band seem to like it too.
  18. Thanks for the help your explanation makes sense. Rehearsed it for the first time on thurs and it went ok. Getting there with it.
  19. Peavey headliner 210 bass cab for sale. Very good cab especially for the money and in very good condition. 400 watts at 8 ohm. I bought this as a stop gap while looking for a barefaced cab which I have now bought and this now needs a new home. Any trials welcome in Downend in Bristol. Price is firm and cash on collection massively preferred due to weight and the fact I'll need to find a box big enough to post. Any questions please let me know.
  20. Give PMT a call they have them in stock and got one to Bristol for me which came for another branch. They should be able to get one to the London shop for you.
  21. Open to sensible offers on this. Trying to clear some space and have had a few time wasters via other forums before posting here. May take a practice amp in part ex.
  22. I'm sure you can find a need for it. Any trials welcome and I can always through in a cup of tea too!
