1.
That would be brill. It would be great to meet you :-)
You too Shell x
2. We were planning to have the next one around June, but reckon that may slip now...... Oh Gelfin?!?
3.
. I did, however, record the gig on my new Zoom H1 and, listening back to it this morning, it is surprisingly tight and, in places, grooves like a mofo.
It's a fab bit of kit isn't it Couldn't manage without mine, we record all our rehearsals and all gigs, its amazing how it motivates you to work when there is no hiding from mistakes
4.
So is there a Precision fretless for sale in Wales........
There will be
5. Nowt wrong with being a slapper
6. I love Ibanez basses, they really suit my small girls hands..... So I have bought an Ibanez SR300 which they are de-fretting for me, as my current precision fretless is too wide necked for me. The Ibanez fretless SR300F has been discontinued, so I'm having my own made Can't post a picture until its posted out to me once the work has been done on it
7. I want to adopt that kid!!!!!
8. Today, whilst in the Big Smoke called London town I called to two bass shops! The Bass Gallery in Camden and Wunjos Bass Centre in Tin Pan Alley. You lucky lucky people, basses as far as the eye can see, helpful and knowledgable staff, a range of custom options available to you. Us Welshies have two or three basses in the corner of a guitar shop with someone who will do a set up or string change if you are lucky!! And did I buy a bass..... Hell yeah!
9. I will defo make next year
10. There are several of us South Wales bassists! We tend to meet up in Cardiff every so often so keep an eye out on events! Welcome
11. This has given me such a funny image in my head!! I'm imagining talking to equipment about the weights, and a note book and a lab jacket.... Don't know why
12. Nope, do not compute! I'm doing something wrong.... With GAS, fuel costs, rehearsal room costs, lessons etc, I am very much in the red.... There again it keeps me busy and it's fun, so I'm happy most of the time! LOL!
13. Same here, I have started reading but haven't made it anywhere near the end yet, but so far it's proving a fascinating read. Thanks for sharing Nige
14. Just home from my last gig with Not a Jukebox. Bit of a strange night really. On the plus side was great to have support from the lovely Mr Fretbuzz However, it was not our best gig.... The pub we were playing in have their own PA and sound guy and insisted that we all went through it.... However, this sound guy could not get the levels right in the sound check... We sorted ourselves, but as soon as we started the set he started coming up an tinkering.... He upped my bass a few times, so I have having to lower it on my bass as it was WAY too loud in the mix. Also I was playing with new strings and so hated my sound as I hate new strings until they are bedded in. And I stuffed up the first little bass run down on Badge which arsed me off having a bass chat buddy there!! That said, I feel a sense of completion at finishing this project, and look forward to my new challenges ahead
15.
2 gigs this weekend: Friday night played The Yard in Cardiff, fairly shocking onstage sound even though there was a house engineer but we still had fun and got everyone involved even though it's a bit of a sleepy older crowd. Saturday played a birthday party in Swansea - amazing night! Oh, and the birthday girl invited us all back to hers to jump in the hot tub with her and her mates - happy days!
Every time I've gone near the Yard it's been dead!! Party and hot tub sound awesome
16. I LOVE Eurovision in all it's cheesy, predictable, camp glory Every year, we make sure we've had tea before it starts and then we watch getting gradually more lubricated with alcohol until we can barely say our own names by the voting I am amazed that we are up and don't have hangovers this morning (although in fairness, age is getting to us, and we didn't drink as much as usual last night and had switched onto soft drinks at the end of the songs!) At least a worthy winner won this year, I liked the Danish entry
17. At the moment I need my 4 string and fretless for gigging. I also have a 5 string and an electro-acoustic that I don't really need but feel they are nice to have. To be honest, I can always see me having an Ibanez 4 string and a fretless, but as for the others I could probably let them go.
18. Can't wait to hear how it goes
19. Hope it works out for you Paul
20.
How random do these girls have to be , but while we are chatting , any chance
Chokes on cup of coffee!! Nice try, no cigar
21.
I am disapointed to see there are no complaints against the bass player. I think you need to up your game a bit, Far0n!
+1 to this. You are letting your bandmates down..... Now get back out there and start asking random girls for handjobs!
22.
We've started talking about it man, let's hope we can get out of London soon! Thanks a lot mate.
I definitely take the trip over the Severn Bridge if she/you did come to Bristol
23. A pants rehearsal should mean a good gig Good luck matey
