1. I sold this to Dan and can assure any buyer that its properly mint, only built a year ago by Dave Hall and all pots and circuitry are as clean as a whistle. "It's a deal, it's a steal, it's the sale of the f'in century"
2. Yep another hug DHA fan here!!!!
3. Yeah, the only reason I'm not finding the cash for this right now is because there's a big black and yellow box on my pedalboard that looks suspiciously like the same thing Someone stop thinking about it and press the button before you miss the opportunity to own a true tone-in-a-box comp!
4. I've got a collapsible but standard hand trolley and any Londoners who use them on the tube will agree that a three wheel stair version like this would be a God send!! There I am cruising along happy and back pain free - the my heart fills with dread as I see an upcoming staircase to conquer! If the one in the link was collapsible I would kick myself twice for buying a standard one. I'm trying to resist googling 'collabsible stair climbing trolley' right now :-/ Regarding the stairs; I'm certain something can be built to make this easier. Just can't think what it is right now!! :-/ Hope you can find a solution before a slipped disk! Be careful out there dude!!
5. Feeling the downsizing lads! I'm moving down to a pedaltrain jr at the mo. Nearly there but it's been tricky. It would be pedal heaven right now if my mahoosiv VT1-EQ wasn't due back from Dave after it's service soon :-/ I even got rid of my TU3 as I have a rack tuner and I just got a teeny weeny planet waves headstock tuner (how awesome are those!!) for when my amp rack is not coming along. Current set up is morley aby mix > mark bass compressore > OC2 > GE7B > PH1r > pork loin > unichorus > SMMH wHazarai with nano looper squeezed in there aswell. This is all a lovely snug fit so I'm not looking forward to when the VT1's back :-/ I'm feeling stressed just thinking about facing the question - what will be sacrificed? Or am I going to be a very weak man and just get a larger board again!! Be honest - how many of you are thinking the same thing??? :-P
6. Ok cool, If it falls through and you can confirm it'll fit the Eden head then I'm on it like a scotch bonnet!
7. cool units! I had an 880 as my first 'studio' Nostalgia man! Very solid units, do the job extremely reliably and cleanly - highly recommend this unit for the price!
8.
If ashwood doesn't take this, I'll jump on it! Thanks:)
I've got a suspicion that it's a tad too narrow so you may be in luck (darn it! ) We'll see...
9. Speakon lead if its still around please!!
10. Hi If this can take my wt550 (12" x 12" x 3.5) I'll have it plz! Can't find dimensions online of bag. Maybe you could check it for me? Ash
11. Cracking deal on a cracking little pedal. Mine's used for many purposes!
12. Ha! Downsizing your board while trying to fit a VT1 EQ in it. That's the exact crazy affair I'm in now! Recommend this great board from a great chap!!
13. Morley ABY mix and Moody blend please! I'll PM you
14. Hey guys, The LED on my japanese boss ge7b started to disappear then reappear but has finally given up completely. I plan to borrow a multimeter and have a look but I have little practical experience in locating bad components and replacing so any tips would be awesome! Thanks, Ash
15. Some interest but still available!
16. Sold a pedalboard and volume pedal to Mat, Very friendly fella, great comms and seamless deal. Highly recommend!!!
17. Bought Nik's Eden WT550 and korg rack tuner. Super swift transit, great coms, packed to withstand a nuclear blast. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again!
18. No it's marked 'made in england' (I probably should have mentioned that by now!)
19. Bought a valve from Gareth and it's the second time I have dealt with him. Very helpful and decent bloke! Highly recommend and dealings
20. That's a very kind offer Gareth thanks! I'll drop you a text soon. Regarding tonality - I definitely hear more note to note clarity in the Brimar but I also understand they are of the same era so a little confused. I may take a snap shot of the two for the more experienced eyes on here
21. Hi guys, So first of all I would like to simply say WOW! The WT550 I picked up simply sounds beautiful! :-D tone and punch for days! Anyway - I thought I'd try vintage british mullard and brimar 83s in place of the stock JJ/tesla valve. The difference is very notable. The mullard's tops are a lo more back footed and the low mids are very warm. The brimar is less warm but has a tightness that the mullard lacks that really shows on quicker lines and he tops a crisper. So my current tastes have made me close the head up with the brimar in the driving seat. But - one weird thing.... After a few seconds from turning the head on, once the signal appears, there is a very loud hiss that gradually reduces over a period of around 20 seconds. Once it settles, I would say that it's louder than the stock tesla but this isn't the end of the world. I can live with this but I am a bit baffled as to whether this is something to do with the valve's design, the combination with the amp, the age of the tube (it's physically in mint shape btw), a fault creeping in? I'm new to the world of tubes so any wisdom shared on this would be appreciated as I'd like to understand what's happening to our my mind at rest. Cheers, Ash
