1.
Suppose you work Mon - Fri. You could take a train from Wigan on Saturday morning to Cardiff and back the same day with 1 change of train for £80 (Swansea = £87, Stirling £84). What's the cost of a courier and the risk of it being damaged in transit? Plus you get a nice day out and you get to see, touch and possibly play the bass before you hand over the readies. If you decide after all you don't want it then ok you've spent £80 but haven't got the hassle of packaging up and sending back a bass you don't want, and trying to get your money back. Let the train take the strain.
+1
 2. We do Collection Only, not out of laziness. We prefer the buyer see the item for themself, and we've had too many things get damaged by couriers, including a major antique that was irreplaceable. If we could trust delivery services, it'd be a different story. Besides, my husband loves his guitars too much to risk them being damaged. At least he agrees to travel to meet a buyer halfway if their distance is too great. So some of us have our own reasons for specifying Collection Only. Our items still sell, regardless.
 3. Thanks, Mark, got it, and reply sent.
 4.
10.38 now - sweepstake on how long before WarriorBass is in here with an offer??.
LOLOL! Oh good, then I'll be able to pay the electric bill this month.
 5. THIS GUITAR IS NOW SOLD. THANKS TO BASSCHAT! My husband, Tom, is reluctantly selling his Wal bass. He's owned this guitar from new. It was built in 1997. He went to the Wal workshop in High Wycombe to order it. It is in extremely good condition and sounds fantastic. NEVER GIGGED. It has a mahogany body, Indian ebony fretboard and gold hardware. Comes with Wal case.It is fitted with SimS gold LEDs Click on this link to see photos: http://www.rachael-a...com/Guitars.htm Sorry for the price change, but I have found out much more common Mk 1 Wal basses are changing hands for well over three grand nowadays. This bass is more recent and a much rarer Mk 3 version in superb condition with the extra-cost black poly finish and LEDS, and is exactly the kind of example that a serious collector would be looking for. These basses are often selling secondhand for very near to the brand new asking price. Let us know if you have questions or want to see a particular type of photo. You can email [email protected] NOTE: Tom is not prepared to ship the guitar, so it is collection only. However, he may meet someone ½ way, depending on your distance from him in Berkshire.
 6. Btw, we've sold his MusicMan Cutlass on here, and his Hofner is pending (awaiting payment), so Basschat is well worth the donation money! Plus, the buyers are always nice. You really must see the Jaydee to appreciate it. Same with the Wal guitar he's selling.

 11. Okay, my apologies, this should be under Marketplace and not posted here.
 12. Woohoo! Glad you bought it, Polyrhythmmm. Maybe it was slow in selling, but it went to the right person. Enjoy!
 13.
Have a free bump from a fellow Cutlass I owner
Hey, thanks so much! It's appreciated.
 14.
Interesting that this one also has a 79 body, like the 3 bolt I used to own. I wonder if they were just using up old body stock when they made these basses?
That's what I was thinking; it's the only conclusion that made sense to me.
 15.
Looking at the link it seems to be saying its a 79 body but an 83 neck - is that correct?
Yes, what Pierreganseman said
 16.
surprising this is not sold... sold mine in 24 hours... :s
Well, I suppose the buying market fluctuates a lot. With the bad economy, people are purchasing less expensive basses. Cheers.
 17.
So sorry to hear that. I have an idea I'm going to PM you about at the weekend.
Okay, thank you very much. We didn't list it for £3,000 like was discussed in this thread. It was listed for less. I keep telling my Tom that he probably should offer to ship it instead of saying Collection Only, but he is afraid it will somehow arrive damaged. I still have the link to BC where they discuss how to ship basses.
