1. Any tips for getting rust off pickguard and pickup screws, using general household products? I don't mind them still looking fairly relic'ed afterwards (in fact that would be ideal), but I want to get most of the crusty rusty crap off. Answers on an oxidised piece of scrap metal please.
2. I bought a thing off this guy and it turned up the next day and it's really good and he seems really nice and now I have a new thing. It goes sort of oooohhuuaaaaaawwooooooohhuuaaawoooooooohhh, and so on, over and over, at different speeds. However, if you buy anything from him, it might not do the same thing, so be sure to check first.

The Palace by the parish church is nice in the summer, and you can spill over to The Wardrobe later if things carry on.
5. What sort of dreadful people are these who expect the ladies to be formally attired in cocktail dresses but require nothing more than casual wear for the chaps. I would suggest doing the decent thing and wearing a proper suit.
6. Yeah, scales aren't that hard to grasp are they? 1. There are 12 notes: C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B, all equally spaced apart (a semitone) in terms of pitch. You can play them higher and lower, but it's still the same set of notes (think about the repeating pattern of white and black keys on a piano). 2. Removing some of those notes results, for certain reasons, in a series of pitches that work well together. All Western music is based on this concept. 3. Learn how those scales fall on your fretboard. It will really help with everything else you do. That's about it for starters isn't it.
7. Any good for metal?
8. Right well I've memorised the letters from A to G and have learnt the numbers up to 13 but not including 8, 10 and 12. How am I doing?
9.
It's as simple as the alphabet up to G and the numbers 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 9 11 and 13
Why are 8, 10 and 12 missing?
10. And I'll repeat my offer of trading my black pickguard (protective film still on it) for whatever anyone else has that isn't black. They're an every so slightly non-standard shape so best to swap like for like.
11. Do you have a photo or model number?
12. This thread's all right but it's not as good as other threads on the subject, which are loads better.
13. I have a red one, black guard, with a maple board, and it's very nice indeed. They're plywood bodies, but, y'know, so what. Actually if anybody wants to swap my black pick guard for their white one, that would be great. It's still got the protective film on it.
14. Never mind the bull fiddle, can you actually get any drugs from your bass teacher???
15. It's too orangey for crows.
16.
it's been fortified with iron
So it's good for metal then.
17.
There is no excuse to post that....
B-b-but it's great. It's even got a flippin' bass in it.. Have you seen their Shaft? https://www.youtube....h?v=NlMT-oEIQuo Or Teenage Dirtbag https://www.youtube....h?v=Fw8ZDwdyHJQ What's not to like.

19. Yeah, it's bargaintastic out there. And Gumtree is just as good if you're patient (living in London helps, I expect).
20.
I cannot understand the dumb people who watch a fixed price item until it ends.
I will put a watch on a fixed-price item so that it gets sent to my list of items that I'm thinking about buying, so everything's in one place. That's all.
21. What bass are you selling? Maybe if someone fancies it they can forward you 7 quid and then you can sell it to them, minus 7 quid. As an exceptional case. Maybe. edit:Or I could send you the 7 quid, and when you make the sale, you send me a tenner back :-) Or post it on Gumtree? And then post on here saying "Wow, great bass in my area, gosh if I had the money I'd be all over that". Or break up the bass up and sell bits of it here for less than 40 quid each.

23. All their other stuff is great. Pick ups, bridges, etc. They're solid, dependable; they're a Ford Focus brand rather than a BMW or a Nissan Micra.
24. At what price point does it stop being an unbelievable bargain?
