  1. That's weird as the head has min 2ohm printed on it above the speaker output and the manual that was sent with mine says 2 ohm in it. They might have changed it since I purchased it because that manual is from 2022 and I purchased it in Sep 21. Anyway it's only been used with 2 cabs a couple of times and at least one of the cabs was 8 ohm so it wouldn't have gone down to 2.
  2. It's not at all, see the screenshot of the manual attached. Trust me the head has been misbehaving through many cabs over a period of time. It's not an isolated thing.
  3. Tsunami pro Speakon cables which have neutrik or a Klotz Jack-Jack speaker cable. I've used the head with a range of speaker cables and it's been the same result.
  4. It may well have been. As the head can handle anything down to 2ohm it shouldn't matter to much
  5. I spoke to them today and the lad I spoke to is going to give me a call on Monday to see what they can do as he has to talk to his returns manager.
  6. It was an Ampeg 410HLF rated at 8ohms. I am certain that it wasn't the cab because the head has been misbehaving with a range of cabs.
  7. No haha! That would be a big ask! The amp had blown so I went directly into a DI box
  8. Having an amp blow up on stage is rare and they always seem to go at the worst time. Picture the scene, 3000 people festival today in Hertfordshire and I'm playing with a brand new Kylie Tribute act and my Darkglass AO500 starts losing volume. It's been doing this before where the volume would fluctuate a bit so I sent it back to PMT who said it was fine and nothing needed to be done... Second to last song final chords and pop. Burning smell. Shout-out to my friend Alex on sound who helped me with a DI. Get the amp home and plug it in and there is the most awful, loud note coming out the speaker out and a bad burning smell. What should I do next? I have sadly lost all confidence in the head now so I was going to ask PMT to refund it. I only bought it in Sep 21. Any thoughts/advice appreciated
  9. Andy has been second to none throughout the transaction. I sold a TC Electronic BC208 to him and throughout the process communication was prompt and he was completely transparent. Top Bloke
  10. Would you accept any trades? Lewis
  11. Ian Allerton at Guitarworks just outside Ware is an excellent tech. I believe he's SG11 about 30 mins drive away from Epping.
  12. I gigged mine last night at a wedding because my Darkglass AO 500 is being serviced (thats for another thread) I agree with the above comments about having to boost the low end to get the oomph you need to drive a band out of the head. Through my Zilla 1x12 it was holding its own but if you play in a loud band or have a loud drummer it might start to run out of puff. Last nights venue was about the size of a basketball court with a high ceiling and the head did just fine. it does get rather hot even with the cooling fan on but nothing too crazy. For the money its a superb head that I have gigged many times and would warmly recommend to anyone as a backup head or a head for small gigs.
  13. I'm sorry for this. I wasn't trying to deceive anyone, I'll amend my post if I can.
  14. I can post but collection might be easier because of the weight of the item. Where about you based mate?
  15. For sale is my TC Electronic BC208 bass cab. Ideal for small acoustic type gigs and jam sessions and a doddle to carry with one hand because of the fantastic sturdy handle on top. I'm selling as I've recently upgraded. There is some wear on the cab as it has been gigged but nothing that affects it's performance at all. It's a great sounding cab that can even handle a B string at home practice volume. Would prefer cash/transfer but I am open to trades for equivalent value. Let me know what you've got! Collection from Hitchin SG4 Lewis
  16. Gibson Thunderbird purchased from Andertons at approximately 12 oclock. Straight back on the train to London to get to soundcheck in Covent Garden for 5pm, gig that night! Still had the sold stickers on the case haha! pro tip DON'T TAKE A THUNDERBIRD IN HARD CASE UP THE STAIRS!
  17. Hi mate sorry about the late reply! Yes it is a custom order, I believe its the bass variation on their 1x12 guitar cab model. After a bit of discussion with Paul this is what he suggested would meet my needs (he wasn't wrong) The driver is a BN12-300S 8ohm version but Paul mentioned he stocks the 4 ohm one also. I'm sure they would be able to source other speakers Lewis
  18. As someone that has purchased a Zilla cab recently they are absolutely still going! Customer service was second to none. If you scroll back in this forum my post should about it should be in there
  19. I forgot to post! Amazing sound last night! Once I had a chance to dial in the EQ it had a surprising amount of bottom end and loads of volume as the amp was on maybe 3/10. I haven't had a new cab for years so it took a bit of time to adjust but once the gig got going it was just a joy to play through! Apart from checking the cab at bedroom volume it was the first time I've had it at proper volume so the speaker will obviously take a bit of time to burn in. Cannot recommend Zilla more, the whole process has been excellent!
  20. I will let you know! It is due to arrive on Thursday
  21. That cab looks UNREAL!! I wonder if Paul would be able to re house that Ashdown head to match!
  22. New cab on its way!!! Custom Zilla 1x12 in the colours of my beloved Watford Football Club! Cannot wait to try it out! I must say the service from Zilla has been second to none from the first conversation throughout the process. Paul is extremely knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. COYH
