Traben Chaos Obsession N/T 5-String Bass FS.....
BassJase replied to BassJase's topic in Basses For Sale
Doubt its what your after but I have an Ibanez ATK300 for trade (I would throw in £50 to even it up).
Cheers for the offer Spaz, but this has really got to be a "for sale" only thread now, as I went and bought myself another bloody Jazz bass tonight, so instead of thinning the herd down to 10 its gone up to 12! Thanks anyway though matey. -
Traben Chaos Obsession N/T 5-String Bass FS.....
BassJase replied to BassJase's topic in Basses For Sale
Cheers fellas yeah it's a nice bass and it's a shame to see it go, but I really don't need 11 basses when I'm barely playing 2 of them! I wasn't thinking of trades for anything, but I just might be persuaded by a fretless or a decent loud 4ohm cab.... or maybe another bass.... oh let me know what you have in mind and anythign gets considered!! I'm in North London by the way, and frequently visit Cambridge and East Anglia so any of those would be fine to be delivered for a small petrol donation. -
THIS HAS NOW BEEN SOLD ELSEWHERE, MANY THANKS FOR THE INTEREST FOLKS! Right, I'm having a go at the old one-in-one-out routine, and having just bought myself a nice new Ibanez I've decided that this needs a new home. Traben Obsession 5-string, neck-through in flame maple. Absolutely great bass, 3 band active EQ and passive/active switch in case your battery goes belly up on a gig. It's got the all-new under-body bridge sustain thing. Trabens are renowned for their massive sustain, and although this has a chunky but not massive bridge, the base plate for it actually extends under the body surface wood to give it more sustain than any other of their models (apparently, watch the vid below.) I bought this brand spanking new from eGay just over a year ago for about £430, but this was before they had a European distributor so I had to pay tax and delivery on it on top, the buggers. Since I've had this I honestly used it for about 3 hours at home, never gigged or rehearsed or anything, not because it's a bad bass but because I haven't needed to play 5-strings live for well over a year now. It's got a brand new set of DR Evergreens on it which are about £35 a set, and I'm taking it to get a set-up in the next week or so. It's got a lovely fast and smooth neck on it, and It's obviously in great condition, and needs to be heard to appreciate the quality of sound you can get from it. Here's a link to the shizzle about it on Trabens website; http://www.trabenbass.com/chaos_obsession.php And here's a video on the Traben Chaos series; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOSwWjLEw1s These seem to go for about £430-£490ish new now, so do I hear £300? Will post in the Ibanez bass box I got for around £15, and I always get insurance after the constant failings of Royal Mail. Not really after any trades except maaaaaaaybe a loud 4ohm cab.

Under rated= Bassists from floppy haircut pop, sorry, poop guitar bands (yeah its so hard to go boom boom boom in time, jog on biff) Victor Wootens deep and transcending lyrics ("my names Vic and I'm gonna show you a trick"- sheer poetry for the soul) Larry hartke's haircut Over rated= Old Fenders in oh-so super rare colours. Yeah I'll happily pay whatever for a faded porridge-beige precision. Larry hartke's 'tache. Come on man, get a handlebar or shave that twitter tickler off. (or perhaps notcher tickler, preference's depending.)

Just a quick heads up for everyone or anyone interested, today I bought the hardback book of the history of Yamaha guitars and basses for the princely sum of £2. Great section on the basses and the players, and a great comprehensive history of everything in the guitar world of Yamaha. Bargain!
