Playing bass wearing black silk gloves - for BETTER TONE
BassJase replied to xilddx's topic in General Discussion
I gotta say I'm also intrigued by this, Since I've been playing here in China in 35-degree heat my hands have been sweaty messes and something to stop me going through a set of strings every week would be luvverley..... But how do they actually keep the sweat in? And do they need washing every gig to stop them from stinking? And can I get some in pink with animal-print cuffs and diamonte's on?.... -

One last price drop, I'll let it go for £155 delivered. I'm gonna be in the UK from Thursday to Monday, so if it doesn't sell for that price I'm keeping it. I can post it to you on the Monday, probably not sooner as I gotta dig it up from storage as well as be best man at a wedding and 100 other things! Bank transfer only, please PM me here. -
Hawkwind - some great (and under-appreciated) bass playing
BassJase replied to Clarky's topic in General Discussion
I toured and played with Hawkwind in 2007 and their all great guys, Mr Dibs is an absolute gent and a really good bloke to have a beer with. If you go to the Hawkwind website and watch the Hawkfest 2007 video you'll see my fugly mug bouncing around on stage with them whilst trying to play bass after a very heavy weekend.... ('nuff said really.) -

Sansamp Bass Driver Deluxe F/S, Now £155 Delivered....
BassJase replied to BassJase's topic in Effects For Sale
Right, well this is back up for trade now as I'm not having a lot of joy getting a multi here in China. I'm up for trades for either a Boss ME-50B, a Boss GT-6B or a Line 6 XT Live. The Sansamp does have its own original box and instructions but I'm gonna have trouble finding them, so it'll have to be sold as is, but it is in excellent condition. I'm also only gonna be in London on the 28th and again on the 31st, so it'll have to be meet up in London on either one of those days. I will also sell it for £165 delivered, bank transfer only. Cheers! -

Took a stroll down Denmark Street last night and there's about 3 or 4 shops (Bass Cellar included) with big "Sale" signs on the windows. What music shop has a sale in May unless they're in trouble?! Shame to see them go, but it seems like the only people who buy from there are tourists.

Backyard Bully need a replacement bassist to cover the spot as I'm moving to China on Wednesday. Fantastic group, awesome tracks and really, really nice guys. Group consists of Vocals, Decks (amazing scratching and breaks), Drums and Guitarist, all aged between mid-twenties and early-thirties. Its kind of a crossover of old school hiphop (ala Public Enemy, Run DMC, Guru, Tricky and loads more) meets crunchy rock (ala Prodigy, Deftones) to make a sound not a million miles away from RATM/Chemical Bros. We've done a few shows in London over the last 18 months that have been met with fantastic feedback, and the band try to avoid those crappy London-toilet gigs that every other band seem to want to fight for, and stick to decent venues and decent gigs. The band has good management and is currently writing for a new live-recorded E.P (Live in the studio, not gig-live) Take a look at the bands websites for a listen to the tracks and see whats what; www.backyardbully.com or www.myspace.com/backyardbully1 The guys really need someone who is a hiphop fan first and a rocker second, don't need some metalhead turning up and trying to pound out lightning fast riffs. The music is based on aggressive-groove, the riffs are simple in places but they need to have feel and movement to keep them grooving. Rehearsals are based in South London and the guys are really flexible about peoples time, as two of the guys have families and understand about the balance between band and personal life. That said, they also need someone committed enough to turn up and write some new material with them and not miss practice/gigs with lame excuses! This would be a great band for someone who wants to play something thats not the usual metal band/pointy-shoes brigade pop music that everybody else in London is playing, and I'll be really sad to depart but its hard to play the gigs from 9000 miles away! Message them via MySpace and Sus will get back to you.

I did the Warwick job out there in Germany for a while but thankfully came to my senses and got my ass home. The number to reach them is 0161 8390 666 (I think....) The contact info is on all the ads in BGM.

I love the BTB series mate, I have two myself and have oned 4 in the past, But I don't think bumping twice a day will help your cause all that much. The price is definietely better now, but the BTBs never really seem to fetch a great price on here... I'm not going to quote figures but look at previous posts to see the average going rate. Just trying to help fella!

I clean my fretboard every time I change strings, which is depending on how many gigs I'm doing with that particular bass. I'm gonna be doing 4 gigs a week from about a months' time, so it'll be a new set of strings every other week probably.
