1. This will hopefully be the last thing in my Spring clear-out, my Crafter BA580EQ 5-String acoustic.
    Its a beautiful and great sounding bass, I just haven't used it for about 2 years since moving on from my old folk-blues-rock band in Norfolk.
    Its in a tasty trans black finish with gold hardware, rosewood bridge and fingerboard, ash back and sides and quilted maple top. Seeeexxyy....
    It also has Abolone trim around the soundhole, white binding around the fretboard and body, 22 frets, and is a comfy but not flappy 32" scale.

    The preamp as controls for volume, bass, middle, treble and presence, and has a battery check (useful) and mute switch (very useful)
    Its been gigged but its in overall great condition, the only two real nasties are a chip on the headstock and a bit of scratching on the bridge and some marks on one or two bridge pins, where some numpty couldn't get the string pegs out with his hands so he used pliers. (Me, tw*t.) I've show these well in the pictures, and there are a few tiny dinks on the body but nothing that will show up in any pictures, and some slight tarnishing on the tuners. I took the shots in sunlight to show things as best as possible.

    It comes in its own hardcase which is also in used but good condition, no problem with the latches or anything, and it really does sound good. I've had 4 acoustic basses now and this is the best of the ones I've owned, it records great and the string spacing is especially comfortable for those who don't like it too wide (its about 16mm at the bridge.)
    The only thing it really needs is some new strings on it. I really like the dead and dubby sound on acoustics, (I like to play along to reggae and DnB tracks with it and it sounds great) but a lot of folks don't. Apart from that its all good to go. I really liked the idea of having it strung E-C to really make it sing with chords and stuff, but alas its not meant to be....

    Piccies.....

    Looking for £170 for it, collected from myself in North London (but I do also travel to East Anglia and Cambridge pretty rugularly so delivery could possibly be negotiated to those far away lands....!)
    I would possibly post if needs be but you know what a pain in the ring that is. Payment by bank transfer, paypal (if you cover the fees) or cheque, or cash on collection.
    Let me hear your thoughts folks..... :)

  2.
Traben is reserved for u sir :) Apologies if somebody pops up and offers to pick up....
    were bouts in the country do u live? Got any pics of that 5 string acoustic? Is it not a crafter?
No worries man, I know its a pain in the rectum to post a bass, I've done it plenty of times before and every time I say "never again..."

    Yeah the acoustic is a Crafter, not sure of the serial/model number but will be getting pics of it up later today. Its a lovely bass and sounds really nice, but just don't use it since I stopped playing in the folk-blues-rock band I was in.
    I'm in North London BTW, not too close to your good self I'm afraid (else I'd have had the Traben off you by now!)

  3.
I couldn't do it to the duck, I took Bassman2790's advice instead, the bass has now been turned into firewood. As you can see the wife is very happy about it.
Your wifes hot, I'll give you £50 for both. (and you can keep the head-basket thing.)

  4. Good band Pantherairsoft, loving the Apartment 26/Filter kinda vibe. How much is your E.P?

    And UrbanX, I was in a band called "Plan B" 17 years ago!

    Right, anyhows, I'm currently playing bass for Backyard Bully, a London based Rock/HipHop crossover band, but not sh*tty raprock like Dog Eat Dog or 311 or whatever, more like Run DMC meets Boo Yaa Tribe meets Helmet.

    We've done a handful of gigs in the last year, every one to a great reception, and we got some good shizzle happening in the coming months.
    Our vocalist Sus recently collaborated with the Mayhem-Dance group Terratron and the track got to #3 in the European dance charts so that was good exposure, and in the past he's supported Eminem and D-12 amongst others.

    If you're interested its www.myspace.com/backyardbully1 or www.backyardbully.com and here's the Terratron video;

    Feedback appreciated cheers.... :)

  5. Right, here's a few pictures to wet the appetite...

    I've tried my best to highlight the goods and the bads, the finish is overall great except the hairline scratch on the upper horn, and the buckle rash and scratches on the back (this is a well gigged bass, but its still in good condition considering.)
    After getting it out of storage I realise the frets could do with another polish, but apart from that its all good. Either thru-body or normal bridge stringing, and tasty mother of pearl sharkfins to help release the inner metal player in you......

    The pointy headstock hasn't had any bonks which is quite rare for Jacksons and Charvels like these, and I forgot to mention but the pickups are EMG-HZ's and the EQ is active, giving loads of tonal scope. And I've never changed the battery in all the time I've had it and its still going strong, so no chance of it letting you down on a gig. :)

    Is nice....

  6. Sad times, but now my Jackson CMG Concert bass is up for sale.
    Really don't want to let this go but unfortunately needs must, so I hope someone here will give it a good new home.
    Its my Jackson CMG Concert bass in a tasteful Transparent Black finish. Its an Alder body with Flame Maple veneer top, with bolt-on Rock Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard, loaded with two EMG PuPs and all black hardware. Sharkfin inlays and white binding around the fretboard and headstock, and maaaaaaan it sounds great. Usual 34" scale and a nice profile neck, not too heavy by any means and I'll be really sad to see it go! :)

    I've used this for loads of rock and metal gigs, but the sound can be tailored for whatever you wanna play on it, I did a video recording of some Stu Hamm stuff on it because it was the best bass I had for tapping clarity and tone.
    The action is currently set pretty low by my standards (so thats probably waaay too low for most people) but I can obviously adjust that before posting. The frets have had a good clean and its in overall very good condition, there's a hairline scratch on the upper horn which I'll show in photo's and I'll outline any marks or dings on it just as soon as I pick it up from storage on Wednesday.

    Heres the Jackson website link to them;

    ..although the current models have graphite nuts on them I'm not sure if this is graphite or not, how do you tell?!? :rolleyes:
    Mine is about 6 years old now, sent direct to me from the Jackson factory in Florida if memory serves me well.
    Here's a few basic photo's, I'll get much better ones up on Wednesday...

    Apologies for the quality/size of the photo's, its all I currently have of it. (Yeah its the Black one in the pictures!)
    It'll be sent in a good-enough gig bag and obviously will be fully insured. Looking for £350 for it delivered, or £335 collected from myself in North London.now

  7. THIS HAS NOW BEEN SOLD TO A NICE GUY VIA GUMTREE, THANKS FOR THE INTEREST EVERYBODY. :)

    I bought this bad boy to use with my Behringer V-Amp Pro, but I've never done more with it than plug it in and mess about for a while then not used it.
    Its in great condition, literally used for a few hours here and there, (I think its still got the plastic covers on the footswitches!) and it comes in a slightly tatty but well padded Electro Harmonix carry-bag thing, and its own Midi cable.

    The best price online I can find for it is £135, so hows £75 delivered Guv?

    Heres the link to the Behringer site and the manwell and piccies etc...;

    I can get pictures of my actual one in the next few days, just got to dig it out of storage with the rest of my unused gumf!
    Any questions then just ask! Cheers peeps.
