1. For sale is my DiMarzio P bass pickup. Great sound but not for what I'm currently playing so have swapped it out for a SD SPB-3. I have owned this from new but I may remove it from the box if/when I post it. Looking for £50, posted in the UK. Cheers!
2. For sale is my USA Musicman SUB. Plays great but bears a few dings which I have tried to highlight - nothing that affects the sound or playability. Selling as i'm more of a P guy and it is a shame to leave this laying around as it sounds marvellous and is built to an amazing standard. No case sadly Collection only from Didcot, south Oxfordshire, but happy to deliver in a 50 mile radius if you can cover the petrol. No trades please. More pics on request Cheers!
3. Afternoon all. I left my beloved monster bass cable at a gig in Portsmouth and need to source a replacement. What's everyone using nowadays? Something with a right angle jack input would be ideal. Cheers!
4. Lots of interest but no bites... make me an offer.
5. Alex bought my Ampeg 410HLF. I can't add much more to this thread but I echo the sentiments of others... prompt payment, good communication - deal with confidence. Thanks mate.
6. Lozz, i was there! Great gig, and you got a great sound out of the Ashdown. Some great bands too. What model P bass are you playing at the moment? I still have your old 70's classic in white and it's kept me GAS free since 2013!
7. Price drop bump
8. Thanks! It's a beauty, I think I may regret selling it as I thought it was "the one" (it probably still is!)
9. which model Fender cab is this?
10. So i'm looking to downsize my cab. I currently have an Ashdown CTM100, with OTB500 as a backup, played through an Ampeg 410HLF. The CTM100 isn't that heavy (the tone is worth the bulk) but the Ampeg is a pain in the backside when it comes to stairs/alleyways and although it's got castors the thing can be awkward to wheel about because it sits quite low compared to a taller cab. AND it's tough to fit in the back of my Skoda Fabia. So I want to go with a light, one cab solution. I'm thinking a BF Super Compact (on it's side for the CTM, upright for the OTB) would fit the bill nicely. I've never used a BF cab but they seem to have a good rep on here. My question - has anyone played either of these amps through a super compact? Will it be loud enough/sound awesome (i play in punk/rock bands mainly so I have to compete with loud drummers) Are there any other cabs I should consider? Or should I just get a bigger car/muscles? Cheers
11. I have this amp and love it... have a bump on me.
12. I've got the little bastard... great for recording and playing at home but it's never been loud enough for me for rehearsal or gigs. (I do play in loud bands though). I've got the CTM100 and that's more than loud enough, haven't ever had it near half volume. If you can afford it, go for the CTM100... it's not light but at 19kgs it's manageable (for me anyway!)
13. I've got one of these, but Mexican made. Has kept me GAS free since I got it - an awesome bass. This is a great price too, have a bump on me.
14. I've always enjoyed modding my basses. I got the Classic 70's Precision from Lozz a few years ago and promptly put a Duncan SPB-3 in it... However it's quite boomy and doesn't fit in with my new band. I've always liked the sound of Jay Bentley's (from Bad Religion) bass and discovered he uses the DiMarzio DP122. I also love Tort pick guards, particularly the Am Std Olympic White/Tort look... So i swapped the stock Black out. When I saw the DP122 was available in cream, I took a gamble and thought it would pick out bits in the tort and complement the white bass, and i'm not disappointed with the look. In fact IMO it's awesome. The DiMarzio sounds great too, more a traditional P sound as opposed to the SPB-3. I love this bass... it has kept me bass GAS free, I haven't seen anything that looks as good. Sadly, I've made up for that when I bought the CTM100!
15. I play one through an Ampeg 4x10 and it's more than loud enough... never had to go past 11 o clock on the volume. Brilliant amp, would definitely recommend it.
16.
Sounds great to me....... absolutely love your bass sound mate (I'm a massive fan of the SPB3 pickups - I've got some on a couple of my Precisions). Which Sansamp was it and what settings did you use? Mart
Thanks Mart... i used the "fat tube" setting from the manual and it was the basic BDDI sansamp.
17. When I was a young lad (13-15 years old) I was in a pop-punk band with some school mates. We were dedicated, hard working, and for our age pretty good (if I do say so myself). We used to put on gigs in our guitarist's garage with some other local bands and they always got closed by the local plod and countless gear was broken but it was great. I've been in a few bands since but for me, those were the glory days. The other guys in the band went their own separate ways but we've always continued with music in some form or another and a few months ago made a decision to start writing music again. We're all a bit older now (all 27) We live in Didcot, Fleet and Brighton, use Southampton as our base of operations (guitarist went to uni there and can draw a reasonable crowd) and rehearse every fortnight in Woking. We've done a couple of gigs so far but i've rediscovered that love for music that I have been searching for years. We recording this EP a few weeks ago, drums in a studio and the rest on the singers Mac, mainly to save money. Bass wise, I used my MIM P (with Duncan SPB3 pickups) into a sansamp then straight into the computer, and I'm really happy with the tone given the restrictions (I wanted to use my CTM100 and Ampeg 4x10 but his Mrs wasn't too keen!) Anyway, enough from me, please take a listen and I hope you enjoy it. Cheers!
