  1. Have you not read any of my threads? Though I'm not in perfection central, so the impact is probably not as great as to when one of the real luthiers on here drops a clanger.
  2. I have a feeling that Mrs 1515 has kind of given up and is just resigned to sawdust everywhere.
  3. Has anyone used these pickups? The Delano wiring guide is sketchy at best and I want to know whether they can do switchable P/Reverse P and J/Musicman before I spend the readies on them.

I am the OP! I didn't expect it to survive this long. I blame them DoIers meself. Scurrilous rouges the lot of them.

@Dad3353 Daddy, can we draw a veil over this little sojourn into silliness please?

I think we can call a halt to this now and go back to being silly on the DoI. No need to annex Build Threads as well.

How do you know, did you see his body?

He's too busy having a social life to be lurking around here, but I hope he sees this thread 🙂
  9. I dunno, following the royal family has kept the tabloids in business.
  10. I stopped watching it when they started using off the shelf parts which would then be modified just to keep up with demand.

Dear Mr. Spondonbassed, Please may we relentlessly take the píss put of your unnatural lust for volutes? Yours Sincerely, The Basschat Massive.
  12. The original drill guides are Imperial so dad turned and hardened some metric ones before he sent it. They were underneath the jig when I put it back in the box. If you put it back in properly then the lid goes back on
  13. My dad found this when they moved house in 2019. It was his dad's, but he's never used it and has no use for it. So after a bit of faff with customs and import duties, it arrived with me.
  14. The customer is always right. Especially when they are asking the impossible.

Just for The Spondz, here you go you perv. About 21 minutes is where you need the tissue box handy.
  17. I don't like relicing particularly, if I play it and the paint rubs off then so be it, but I don't see the point of buying it pre rubbed off. It's like shabby chic, which as far as I can tell is a term invented by people who can't paint a chest of drawers properly. 😉 On the other hand, I do like stuff made out of reclaimed timber. Some of the marks and figuring can be amazing. Some of the things I have made out of pallet wood have some really nice texture.
  18. I was considering Barncaster to be a catch all for a guitar that was made out of reclaimed wood that emphasised shakes, nail holes, woodworm etc and accessorised by rusty control plates.
  19. I think that's called a barncaster. <thread.derail> Steampunk is faux victoriana. Originally coined, as far as I know, when people started writing alternative history, if Babbage had got the difference engine working for example and the Victorians had developed computers. Modern tech in a victorian style ornate, or at least well constructed housing. My favourite Steampunk novel is The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. </thread.derail>
  20. If he doesn't, then pop a B string on it and I'll take it off you. Swap for two packs of jaffa cakes?
  21. Rather than follow every post in Build Diaries i tried the follow option at the bottom of the page. Nothing happened, is it not possible to get notification updates for a sub-forum?
  22. One of these? It's round.....
  23. I'd use a forstner bit over a paddle bit. They're the ones that have a flat circle at the end Unless the hole already exists, in which case a step drill as they are more self centering than either of the two mentioned above.
