I don't remember, and can't be bothered to read back, but is this supposed to be reversible? If not, plug cutter, fill the hole and paint over it...
Edit: I have looked back and it's natural. Find some nice wood and a plug cutter?
I got tickets to see Therapy? in March. Then it was September, then March '21 and now September '21.
Still, at least there's a date and a venue. Machine Head were pushed back and then cancelled.
Ozzy I think is now January '22. I suspect l'll ask for a refund on that one, I was only going for Judas Priest really.
Le Grande Reveal. You can either look to see what's actually happening or go along with the gag that I'm making stinky poo up as I go along.
To be honest, I have only a vague idea what I'm doing anyway.
Mildly unsatisfactory hour and a bit at the bench. First up I had to trim a block of mahogany lengthwise for the next project. Giving myself plenty of wiggle room I marked it up at 25mm and set to. Of course, I cut it bang on the line and pretty much parallel. I've got a 4mm oversize to deal with now.
On a related, I've been getting bits of shaving caught between the plane iron and cap iron so I thought I'd adjust the leading edge of the cap iron to close the gap. Of course, I made it worse.
Straight from @ped's dingy backstreet lockup to my bass!
BC Grolsch button straplocks, unfortunately they didn't come attached to a BC brewed bottle of beer.
Some questions/thoughts on bass design.
Singlecut: why do they all look like sperm whales? A singlecut guitar like a Les Paul or a Tele doesn't join the neck up by 5th fret* so why do basses?
Offset: What is an offset body? A jazz bass is technically offset, but the term is usually applied to something like a Jaguar body.
*Exaggerated for comic effect.
Of his own accord Dean tidied up my makers mark for me, and then sent me a PDF which I can just print onto my waterslide paper with no extra processing.
A proper Gent and a credit to BC
It's really simple, my surname is Orchard and I live in Aukrug, which is in Germany.
The line design I suspect I've seen on a London road name somewhere, or it may be some art deco thing.
The weekends pottering.
A pocket for the sharpening board, a little moveable tool tray that hangs on the side of the bench and a rather wobbly drawer.
The drawer is an "it'll do" rather than done properly. It really needs a proper four square frame building around it and then that fixing rather than screwing bits of wood together and crossing my fingers.
I saw them at Wembley Arena in 2002.
Motörhead, Anthrax, Hawkwind with Arthur Brown and Skew Siskin, who we missed. Lemmy came on to do Silver Machine with them.
