I'm looking for something like a Lazy Bear 2 way patch box, https://www.lazy-bear.co.uk/product-page/patchbay-side-load but, not meaning any disrespect to Lazy Bear, or anyone else who makes them, I'm not paying 28 quid for something I've got all the parts for except the enclosure. Which is where you come in, any ideas where I'd get a box from? All the ones my Google-Fu has found are either far too big, or too low to get the jack sockets in. Ideally it would be 50mm x 40mm x 25-30mm. Also, available in the EU without a billion pounds of shipping added Ta everso.
  2. Being sectioned is a horrible thing to happen to you. The hoops to go through to get treatment and be released are convoluted to say the least. My mum was a non-executive director on a mental health board for a while and the days they had sectioning hearings were the days the entire board wanted to be elsewhere. You're stripping another human being of their dignity and liberty for an indefinite period.
  3. Rob is a scholar and a gentleman with the patience of a saint. He did 3d printed pedal board parts for me and didn't, as far as I can tell, go mad in the process. Top chap and a good egg.
  4. I seemed destined to scupper that bands performances. At another gig I got the follow spot set up and used it on them to highlight the singer when he was singing and the guitarist during the solo etc. Again afterwards he was very kind but said the follow spot was blinding him, so please, enough with the stadium style experimentation and just do the pretty colours next time? A good band and a lovely bunch of guys, they must have dreaded coming to the SU after a while
  5. I did lights for the SU for my first year at Sheffield Hallam. Thouroughly enjoyed it, but it ate into too much drinking time so I packed it in after a year. We had a sort of regular rotation of bands so you got to know the faces after a while, unfortunately no-one who went on to be huge so I can't say "I did lights for X at my SU". I ramble... I found the smoke machine one day and thought it would be a giggle to plug it into the desk and out of the patch box on stage for one of the usual rock bands. After the gig the singer came up to me and said "Nice lighting effects this evening Si, but next time, please, no bloody fog, we're not a f******ing goth band!" Apparently the guitarist had gone for a bit of a wander around the stage and nearly come a cropper off the edge in the mist. Oops.
  6. It looks less obviously denim than I expected for some reason. Was that deliberate?
  7. If you don't need to tapdance during a song to go from clean to overdriven to something and back to clean then I would go with a Zoom MS60B or B+ and put the effects you want into the cycle list. If you need to tapdance then a B3n or a B6 would be my suggestion, but I'm a bit of a Zoomer. Options are available from Boss or Line6 as well.
  8. Ain't that the truth. How someone who only learned to walk last summer can be so fast, and able to climb up things that shouldn't be possible to climb is beyond me. The little tyke is now tall enough to be able to work door handles so we have to lock the hall door so he doesn't fall down the stairs or escape out of the front door.

Right, I've called it finished now and put the Nobbs and the control cover on. One thing I'm not impressed by is the pickups. They're nice sounding units and I can't fault their functionality. They're a pair of Delano Quad Core wired P/reverse P in the neck and P/all coils at the bridge. I had hoped for more tonal variation depending on which config I chose but to my ears there's no difference. I could have just put a couple of soapbars in and had done. Ho hum, it's like that, and that's the way it is.
  10. Bit of a resurrection and possibly a long shot, but does anyone know what size the mounting holes in the power bar are? I'm tending towards M6, but really need it confirming somehow. It's M8 if anyone else wants to know.
  11. Or, it could have been the last set of the evening and they were sufficiently lubricated to dance? 😉 I'm sure it was the Squier really.
  12. Not remotely sketchy, no siree... "Business seller information Bespoke Swim Spas Suzanne Newsome Thuja Pool Lane Stafford, Brocton Staffordshire ST17 0TY United Kingdom Hide contact information Email: [email protected]"
  13. Is it possible to have PMs edited in the same way as the main forum?
  14. Not for me, but I don't order from them very often. I ordered a PSU on the 15th and it was in my grubby hands on the 17th when I got home.
  15. Get a bigger board, problem solved....
  16. There is never a good reason for @Teebs. If he swapped the blue monstrosity on the left hand edge with the MXR then all the pedals would be the same orientation AND the XLR socket would be accessible. Just saying.......

It lives! With many thanks to @KiOgon for troubleshooting the wiring loom, The Spondz and @Andyjr1515 for advice during the process and @AngelDeVille for sorting getting the body to me in the first place. I present the Peavybird It's not quite finished, I've left the knobs off for a moment because I have a suspicion I've got one of the pickups out of phase, certainly the volume drops right off in certain coil combinations. I'll detail the not quite right bits if you want me to 😉

TBH Andy, there was so little screw poking out any amount of masking tape wasn't going to save the finish. I need a new screw now though.
  19. I think it mounts using the threaded feet, but the web page isn't clear. They're 50 x 30 x X, I'd assume 30mm deep and 50mm wide. It does: Will do. A red one but probably without the step as it doesn't seem to fit in my case. I'll measure what I've got currently and be back later. @Woodinblack has one, we could ask him to measure it up....
  20. Or... and this is just on the fly, print up a couple of tabs that match the extrusion rails and a countersunk hole that matches the PSU and mount it with that. I'd use the 400mm one so it fits between the end pieces. How much were you thinking of charging for the printed components?
  21. Och, get tae hell you, I didn't need to know they were a thing. Not a bad solution though..... My thoughts were initially to put two more rails at the bottom under the top rearmost two for things that can just sit there and won't need changing very often, the PSU and compressor spring to mind. Then the DI can sit on the top at the back along with a.n.other thing that will need printing.... The forward lower tray then holds the B3n, tuner and the amp channel footswitch. I really need to measure up my case and confirm it's the one I linked!

Screw is out, and now I have a little circle around the hole where the pliers wore the finish away. In other news, the electronics still don't work but I weighed it and it's going to be around the 5kg mark. I also hung it on a strap. The headstock gently drifts downward, but that was a cheap nylon strap, leather will probably hold it.
  23. Do you want the random thoughts about redesigning *your* project for *my* spec here or in a PM? Cioks DC7s are currently around the 180€ on Reverb, as opposed to the 235€ with Thomann. A Sol is also an option, will I regret not having the extra outputs, or will I regret spending the extra 50€ for outputs that are likely never to get used....
  24. I hate you. It's probably going to fit my flight case as is. https://theflightcasecompany.com/gb01-guitar-effect-pedal-board-flight-case Because my DC-8 doesn't have enough output to run both a TC Electronics ND-1 and a B3n, I use the B3n wall adapter into a socket screwed into the existing wooden riser. If I get one from you then I need something to provide 12v 300mA and 9v 500mA without using all the outputs. I could use a three leg doubler, a tripler I suppose, for the Zoom....
  25. Sorry d_g, did this sell in the end?
