  1. Is Pantherairsoft still around? Tapdancing on pedals and Dub was his thing IIRC.
  2. Talk about spamming the thread.... Do you have anything on the wall to stop the body banging into it and getting scratched? My bitsa strat I'm not fussed about but if the P-bass got knocked I'll be a bit miffed.
  3. I wouldn't! Have you read the description on the Stewmac website? They can give you cancer! 😱😉
  4. Ooo, its not too old a thread so doesn't count as a zombie yet! What size screws do you use to fix the hanger? It's going into a solid exposed brick wall not so I know exactly where the joints are. 4mm X 50 screws or bigger,? I can go mad and use those expanding concrete bolts but I suspect that's over engineering it a bit.
  5. For want of any other theory knowledge I've called it in F and gone: F G C A# as previously intro etc A F C verse or chorus G D E C verse or chorus It sounds good to me!
  6. I have a little riff that both the guitarist and I think has potential, it'll fit as an intro, bridge and outro but I need some thing for the verse and chorus. It's F G C A#. How do I know which key it's in, I think F as that's the first note. Following from that, can I use anything in the rest of F Maj as the rest of the piece or should I just say stuff it and noodle around until I find something else that sounds good and tack it on and hope? It'll be in about four different keys if I try that, does it matter?
  7. Very nice. And yes, we're all a little OCD when tiling lines don't quite work.
  8. Fair enough. But then, and this is clearly only my opinion, but if I stand in front of the pedals then, being a righty, the lead from my bass is on my right hand side, if it were to then go into the left hand side of the pedal it has to cross my playing space from right to left at some point. So pedals right to left makes more sense to me to keep the cable run logical and tidy.
  9. I *think" it may be Minefields by the Prodigy. Told you it wasn't going to be Pitchshifter 😉
  10. Hmm, it does doesn't it. I didn't hear that bit on the radio, it started when the drums did. It's on the tip of my brain, which is why it's so annoying.
  11. Help me Obi-wan Basschat, you're my only hope. Can someone listen to the beginning of Waiting Room by Fugazi, when the drums start, and tell me what I think it reminds me of. My gut says something by Pitchshifter, so it probably isn't. This may count as OT, so bung it in there if it is 😉
  12. We went to an evening of pipe bands and other assorted folksy stuff in Wick on our tour of the NC500. I quite enjoyed it but the thing that really impressed me was the very pretty young lass doing the jumping up and down scissor dancing thing. For about five minutes. Her core and leg strength was something genuinely something to be in awe of.
  13. Nights in White Satin? Never mind, I'll get off your thread 😉
  14. Won't that restrict you to only using it at night?
  15. Back on topic as it were, I've got all of my tickets bar Ugly Kid Joe and Skin from the Roadmender and ZZ Top from the NEC on the Antenna tour. I keep them all and will put them in an album one day, honest! I'm a bit miffed by E-Tickets as I think that a ticket stub is an essential part of concert memorabilia.
  16. I've got the misprint shaped picture disc for Fear of the Dark. Apparently the whole run was wrong so it's not as rare as you'd think. IIRC the B side is supposed to be Hooks in You, but is actually Tailgunner, which IMHO is a better song anyway so nothing lost there! I've also got Running Free: The Iron Maiden Story by Garry Bushell, but you'll have to prise that out of my cold dead hands.
  17. Record the sessions and then listen to them as a band to discuss any level, clarity and other issues. If he can practice to change his faults give him that opportunity.
  18. I don't know if it's a fixed radius or not! Necks taper so... If a radius block is used then I guess it is.
  19. Machining a compound radius tapered fretboard would be incredibly tricky, and very interesting to set up. Probably on the wrong side of expensive as well. I'd try @SpondonBassed metal veneer idea first.
  20. I play with my fingers in the gaps, not on the frets, no-one has told me to play otherwise, maybe I'm doing it wrong? I didn't think it was arsey 😉
  21. I always have played so that the strings touch the fretboard 😲
  22. How resilient are decals on a fingerboard? I would expect the strings to cut through them fairly quickly.
