Can I quickly hijack this to ask the difference between Aria and Aria Pro, with or without the II? I've got an Aria Pro II Magna Series 5er that I know pretty much nothing about, with replaced hardware that's definitely worth more individually than as a bass.

If you have a drill press you can mount a bit of hexagon bar the correct size for the hex in the insert in the chuck and screw it in by hand whilst keeping pressure on the insert by the spindle feed. Before anyone gets the wrong idea, the motor is most definitely off when doing this!

On the basis that I am definitely stealing that look when I refin my Tele (probably never, but I can plan to) how did you do it? My thoughts are to paint the sides black and then sand off the top without going around the edge contour, or would that create a fuzzy edge rather than a sharp edge on the paint?

I disagree 😉 my experience is really only on one bass as well. I've got an Aria Pro II P/J, but that's got EMGs in it, the original pickups were terrible at finding the B string. Maybe it's a pickup design rather than a P pickup not being capable of the job?🤔

To mildly derail this thread slightly and move from building basses (take note of the B word in Basschat Mr @Jimothey 😜) and move on to building walls, no-one said I can't do a build diary on that did they? If I want to clean some mortar off bricks that I had to put back after the insulation was replaced, if I scrub it off with a wire brush presumably I should use a non ferrous one to avoid leaving black metal marks on the bricks?

3. Clawfinger at Die Pumpe in Kiel, sold out and completely crazy. My liver took a bashing that night as well, so bashed that I spent Sunday in bed! 4. Can I have two? Backyard Babies at Gruenspan in Hamburg, I really like them but they were lacking for some reason, Audrey Horne, the first band were brilliant though, but I didn't like The Bones. Alter Bridge, again in Hamburg, this time at the Sporthalle, again the support bands, The Raven Age and Shinedown were excellent whilst the headliner not so much.

One way of protecting it from Dr Mondeaux 😉
