DIY Pedalboard - 3d printed & Aluminium Extrustions 400mm x 300mm
Si600 replied to rwillett's topic in Build Diaries
Must resist temptation.... So, with that in mind, a few questions about the red one. With 400mm extrusions what's the overal width of it? What's its overall depth and how high is it at the front and at the back. I need a new PSU unfortunately if I do go this route. Sadly for me there's a Cioks DC-7 2nd gen for sale in the effects section. Or was. -
I have an x-y table you can have. If we can work out how to get it from Germany to you without it costing a billion quid.

DIY Pedalboard - 3d printed & Aluminium Extrustions 400mm x 300mm

Hell yeah! But really, do I need it? Feck no! I'll have a measure up and a serious think, but don't hold your breath! -
It's a Super Twin, but as I mentioned, both it and the GK have been used as a mixer table for the past year so I've just been going through the B3n. I have an audition with a new band on Tuesday, and I don't know whether they use backline, in-ear or both so the rig may come out to play again, or it may not.
-
It really is as simple as that then. Thank you very muchly. Of course the GK is an essential part of my rockstar tone It's been used as a table for the last year, we rearranged the rehearsal room and I didn't bother to set it all up again, just went from the pedal board to the PA. My drive patches need a bit of work, they sound a bit flat without the head but that's a setting tweak, not a reason to plug the amp back in.

What sort of temperature is that hot, cherry red or just until the finish bubbles? 😉

Can I ask a really stupid question, feel free to delete me and I'll not be offended, but what's the basic connection diagram? Mine would be Bass -> B3n -> Mixer -> IEM processor/sender -> belt pack -> ears? Or do I stick my GK/Barefaced into the gap between the B3n and the Mixer?

I'm leaning towards very carefully filing the stump off flush, filling and spritzing it with a splash of black and laquer and seeing if it will not look too lairy against the existing finish. Then putting the string bar at a jaunty angle and pretending it was supposed to be like that.
-
Not enough stub I'm afraid Stubz I have a feeling that the hole was a bit small. As to gluing an allen key in to it, it will be so small it would bend before it turned I think, the screw is only about 3.5mm including thread.

Broken a screw off in the face of the headstock fitting a string bar. There's a little stump poking out, any suggestions on how to get it out?

Black knurled Tele style. I don't really like chicken heads or skirted ones. The ones which are like a skirted one with the numbers but the skirt is inside the cylinder are quite nice, but still not really my taste.

Putting strings on when it's not finished. Doesn't feel quite right somehow 🙂

End of year report: Could have finished it by now . But I haven't and I won't. In trying to get the pickups to work I've made a mess of the loom @KiOgon made for me so I'm having to find some bits of wire. However, it is all together and there's no technical reason the strings can't go on, except it doesn't feel right. Pic for attention

The battery connector in my Squire JB has fallen off. I was thinking about replacing the box with a clipless one where closing the lid pushes the battery into contact. Is it worth it for the amount of times the battery will need replacing? Can you get such boxes that are a direct replacement?

Shiny. I hadn't appreciated how much damage copper tape can do to your knuckles. I was more worried about the stanley blade without a holder.

I would ask how do you find using the Stobostomp, but that means interacting with Young Teebs(TM), which is a bad day in anyone's encyclopedia. I've got the Strobostomp Classic and it's a bit of a chunky unit.

Look at the chaos that is my bitsa build, there I fit a 5 string neck to a 4 string body. There was only a couple of mm on each side to widen the pocket. I can take a picture of the g side overhand if you would like so you can judge whether you can live with it or not.

Spelt ebOnol. Not to be confused with ebAnol, which is a perfume ingredient. No, I didn't know that either until a minute ago.
-
It's ebanol. Some sort of composite I believe. Yeah, it wasn't great. He came to rehearsal one evening, did a song and a half and said, "Sorry guys, I don't feel great, see you next week." The next day he was in hospital with a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and six weeks later we had his funeral.

I'm not making a banjo. Twerp

I've had it since early summer, it just hasn't got home before now. A Squier JB V Active Deluxe from 2008. It belonged to our guitarist who died in October '23. The chap who was helping his widow out with sorting through his instruments and musical accoutrements called me and said that Angelika had asked if I would like it. It's been in our rehearsal room since then. I brought it home to change the strings and clean it, did a smidge of setup and the truss rod nut promptly stripped. I've just come back from the luthier after having a new TR nut fitted and everything is happy again. Neither of us expected it to be so simple!

Second coat of oil. Still no slurry, and it's now the same colour as my bench! It's slightly darker IRL than my phone camera shows.
