What's the technical thinking behind these enclosures, what does having the speaker obscured behind a slit between two angled sides do?

Or possibly just veering... It's more a question for @andyjr1515 but rather then PMing I thought I'd ask in case the answer is interest to anyone else. Have you tried veneering over a veneer? I'm idly thinking whether it would be possible to have a highlight line in a darker wood between the body and the top veneer.

It was lovely to see you all again, many thanks for coming, there wouldn't have been a bash otherwise! I hadn't appreciated the bank holiday which may have impacted on numbers slightly. Especial and heartfelt thanks to @Andyjr1515, @Jabba_the_gut and @Norris for agreeing to speak to us and give a little insight into how they do things. How to top that next year!

Just thought I'd put this up, I don't remember seeing anything in the rules to say civil engineering can't be posted, but I'm not going to diarise it here. Anyway the point was that after yesterday's talks at the MBB5, here's another example of it's probably not the right way to do it, certainly it's not the professional way, but it worked for me. Even civil engineering needs clamps!

The room is booked until 1700. There is going to be an Announcement later regarding the bash. Also, feel free to bring part projects, as long as they're relevant. I'm happy to look at partly restored Group B rally cars but it doesn't really fit
