  1. Well that was interesting! I used it last night at our rehearsal session with a very quick setup, all the settings at 12 o'clock, both channel "gain" at half one-ish and the master "volume" very low so no-one died of internal bleeding and it sounded excellent. I may tweak the settings a smidgen over the coming weeks but it's a good basis for something that I like the sound of.
  2. I'd love to have it, but at the moment it's something that I can't really justify spending money on GLWTS
  3. No I don't. I'm using the A channel as clean and the B as overdrive so the gain settings are just under distorting on the A and almost to the stop on the B. Volume controls are set so that there is no detectable difference in level when I switch between them. What I do notice is that the B is bassier than the A. I think I'm going to set it all back to the manual recommendations and start again, maybe with more crunch on my clean channel and make the B a bit more overdriven and sightly louder for solo infill. I'm going to go back and reread the Confusing Menage a Troi thread, see if that helps.
  4. So I need to juggle the EQ controls to get a more consistent sound between the channels if I don't want such a big difference between them?
  5. First time out on our own! Hopefully all you'll be able to see is the videos, not the rest of my Google drive! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1E8uu9LkmI3CYiNGlaRp5VVCZm7_lntV- https://drive.google.com/open?id=1b9q742NMphZ7d936nPSU6d8Qa_YT-tYj
  6. I've noticed recently that when I switch my MB500 Fusion to the B channel the tone gets bassier and "muddier" I've got the settings to the high side of "middley" but there's definitely a change when I switch between A and B. B does have the gain (or whatever it should be called) nearly on full to deliberately get a crunch from it, effectively have a clean channel and a overdrive channel. I may have completely misunderstood how to use the amp of course.
  7. Sorry, never heard of them. Nor the South Korean one.
  8. My band is called 330ml.
  9. I read Happy Jack's thread on his OBT, is it worth playing about with different valves in my GK 500 Fusion, or is that going down an expensive road chasing a setting or sound that I won't really know until I hear it?
  10. What's the technical thinking behind these enclosures, what does having the speaker obscured behind a slit between two angled sides do?
  11. Or possibly just veering... It's more a question for @andyjr1515 but rather then PMing I thought I'd ask in case the answer is interest to anyone else. Have you tried veneering over a veneer? I'm idly thinking whether it would be possible to have a highlight line in a darker wood between the body and the top veneer.
  12. Sorry @Andyjr1515, I was only taking stills. I didn't think to video it.
  13. It was lovely to see you all again, many thanks for coming, there wouldn't have been a bash otherwise! I hadn't appreciated the bank holiday which may have impacted on numbers slightly. Especial and heartfelt thanks to @Andyjr1515, @Jabba_the_gut and @Norris for agreeing to speak to us and give a little insight into how they do things. How to top that next year!
  14. Just thought I'd put this up, I don't remember seeing anything in the rules to say civil engineering can't be posted, but I'm not going to diarise it here. Anyway the point was that after yesterday's talks at the MBB5, here's another example of it's probably not the right way to do it, certainly it's not the professional way, but it worked for me. Even civil engineering needs clamps!
  15. And it begins! Bass players are even talking to each other instead of having a slap-off 😂
  16. It's BASH DAY!!!!!! And a splendid morning for it too See you all later.
  17. It's next week! *squeeeee!* With 8 people on the list, it's going to be very quiet...
  18. Si600

Still some left. Full list on application, but might as well be considered complete.
  19. Sold on the Bay of Fleas to some uncaring non-Basschatter* *Possibly
  20. Red or yellow to show through the grill? Unless the grill cloth is a close weave in which case you won't see it anyway.
  21. Have some pictures. It'll be going to the tip fairly soon.
