1. The only person who puts them away is me. I "throw" them out when I set up but the one between me and the pedal board doesn't seem to behave itself in use.
2. I coil my cables over - under style but both the spare one that lives in the bass case and the one that goes between the pedal board and bass have developed a sort of permanent curl to them. Am I coiling them badly, or doing harm by keeping them coiled when they're in storage as it were?
3. I don't suppose anyone really knows how to play Iron Maiden's Running Free? All the stuff on the net is close but there are some bits I just can't work out and no one else seems to be bothered either. Particularly the run up to the last verse I think it is, I'll listen to it again and jot the timings down if it'll help.
4. Hardly any time at all, my longest sessions are our get together every other Thursday with the band, probably explains why we're not really making progress. It gets us out and it's fun, none of us want to be rock stars after all. At home, especially as it's holidays, the little ones curtail any practice time.
5. A bit of ODB3 love over here, I like it because it sounds harsh and tinny which layered with the valve stage on my amp just sounds nasty.
6. What attachments does it come with? I got the impression from the Zoom website that there were lots of cost options, but it only had the XY head fitted. I want to use it for recording rehearsals and if we're ever lucky/stupid enough a gig. An H6 seems a bit overkill for that with all the inputs and options.
7. Cheers. I don't have either at the moment so may as well look for the latest if it's available.
8. Has anyone used or reviewed a Zoom H6N? Is it worth the extra smarties over an H4N?
9.
...genuine WW1 machine gun gathering dust????
I'll never stop your full volume slapping at the E Mids Bash again!
10. Alternatively, has anyone got a Delano Hybrid in a P bass?
11. I've got an Aria PJ with EMG pups that mostly stays at home and a Fender P that mostly comes to rehearsal. I like the P tone on both, but I also like blending the J to give it a bit of mid/treble clank. I'm considering PJ ing the Fender, but I'm not sure I can bring myself to do it to a bass that cost me nearly £900!
12.
I use to hate precision bass because is my first bass was a precision. Now P bass is my go to bass. I've made 2 changes to my Fender P bass. First added a J pickup so the bass becomes P/J bass but I use the P pickup most. Second I've swap the P neck with a glossy maple jazz neck.
Which J pickup are you using? I've got a 5 string P I'm idly thinking of P/Jing but using the American Standard Jazz bridge pickup in it
13. I've got a Peterson Stomp Classic strobe tuner, which I rate rather highly.
14. My cheapo Aria Magna 5er is out all the time. My Fender P 5er lives in it's case so gets to leave the house for rehearsals. That's mostly due to having two children around the house. I'd be miffed if the Aria got broken, but livid if the P is damaged
15. Can it never be tuned to concert pitch or does it need to settle into the semitone down before increasing the tension?
16. How long is the runway from the AC/DC concert!?!?!?
17. Anything but sunburst and tort I painted a guitar in a dark metallic green, I think it was a Vauxhall colour, but I've not seen many dark green basses so British Racing Green?
18.
Si’s P5 - as addictive as the chocolate orange cake; I kept wanting to come back for more of both all afternoon.
Get one, you know you want to
19.
It's a German saying. No wonder it doesn't translate wel.
Great band though.
20. Thank you sincerely to all of you who came today. Hopefully without sounding terribly cheesy it really is you that makes these things happen, otherwise it would be just the Chris', Jo, Andy and I sitting there for the afternoon eating cake and there wouldn't be one next year. Not saying that there will be you understand
21. There are sticky fluorescent dots, you charge them with a torch or something, but whether they'd survive the strings I wouldn't like to say.
22. I'm not sure that you should be allowed to attend if you're going to say things like that
23. It's today people! See you in about 3 and a half hours
24. Not at all. Feel free to pop along!
