I've noticed a couple of the bespoke boards on here have an input and output jack mounted on the board itself so that you don't plug directly into the first and last pedals. What's the thinking behind this arrangement? (I've done it myself, but in my case it's because I think it looks nice )
Well, the footprint is no bigger than a normal rig..... Don't worry, I'll just bring the smaller cab and Glock Head
Funnily enough, it wasn't the footprint I was concerned about

Are you bringing all that to the Bash?

My phone has just updated itself to Android 4.3 and Chrome stopped working. I installed Firefox and I'm seeing the same thing as peted. Did you find a fix or have you just stopped using Firefox?

I bought a microphone from CB. Paid for on Friday and it appeared in the post on Saturday! Top service and an all round good egg.

Thank you There are enough threads on here about DI or mic'ing so I'm not going to open that door and ask which is best in this thread!!

It wasn't, but when I plugged the RCA cables into the desk and the laptop my combo started whistling. With either end of the cable unplugged it went away. The mixer was sat on top of my combo as somewhere to put it. As I didn't want to break anything we unplugged it all and put it away but I'd still like to get something done next time we get together.

My guitarist and I were talking about placing microphones in front of speakers last night and either I lost something in translation or I just don't get it, but why should we be looking to mic up when doing a gig (if we ever do one!)? If you have to, then why aren't we all using little combo's and letting the PA do the heavy work? Told you I didn't get it!

The "singer" in our "band" and I use the quotes because he's not a great singer and we're a particularly poor band, no drummer and only playing along to the record Though we're going to be doing the finding a drummer thing soon, anyone know anyone? Anyway, back on topic, he has a Behringer UB1204-Pro and last night I started playing with it with the intention of at least getting the bass and guitar tracks down so that we can listen back and see if it sounds as good as it does in our heads. I got the line out from both amps into the mixer and then used an RCA L-R to 3.5 jack lead plugged in from tape out on the mixer into the microphone port on the laptop. It didn't like this very much so we stopped. What am I missing to be able to record from the mixer onto my laptop?

Wire cutters This is the first bash that Roland and I have organised. We've got the room but it's not huge, we thought it best to start small as TBH I don't think either of us expected such a level of interest, for which we are both humbled. However, it is this level of interest that has led us to restrict the amount of rigs and basses just so that we can try and keep a lid on any slapfest that should occur. The room has access from the car park, so if the weather is clement we can spill out there should the noise become excessive. If not, then the main atrium is available but we haven't booked this and it's effectively a free space for all the other users of the building at the time. Hope that helps. I'm sure we'll all get on famously and no-one will get carried away but if a volume war kicks off then we reserve the right to ask you to turn it down

You really are the font of all SH knowledge I'd love to meet him but I know I'd be so star-struck I'd just be a dribbling slack-jawed yokel and make a proper fool of myself.

Do we know how old the bass itself is? Is it a '79 or did King 'arry get it second hand?

I bought a pedalboard case from Merton. Arrived very quickly, extremely well packaged and exactly what I expected.

The Racehorse used to have a function room out the back, The Wig and Pen have had bands on and the Thomas a Becket claims to, but I've never seen any there Oh yes, now you've asked it goes without saying that you have to let us know when you're playing

Dunno... I started with a very cheap 4 string that has been broken for parts and is now strewn across BC land, then I got a similarly cheap (£120 from the 'Bay in 2000) Aria 5er and now I've got a Fender P 5er which is so much more than I paid for the Aria it's ridiculous. But... Both the Aria and the Fender spend alternate weeks out for practice and "band" sessions so I'm swapping between cheap-but-good-for-the-price and proper expensive. Not sure that answers your question TBH

Can I put my Magna Series in here, or are they the lesser Aria Pro IIs and not allowed?

It looks really nice. I'm not very good at wood working either but I'd be chuffed as a chuffed thing if it was mine

Classy. Is that your cabinetry as well?
