Thanks bud, The genz benz looks tasty :-) Adding another 8 ohm cab really gets full power out of the amp.... I have it on a very very low setting now and it's enough for the bedroom anyway :-) Can't wait to have a gig, stick it on half and see what happens :-D PS I spy a Harley sticker in the background, you've got a lot of taste :-)

Best book I've got is Bass Guitar for Dummies and I've got loads. Must have read it about 10 times. Another great book I'm using now is Bass Fitness by Josquin des Pres ..its full of finger stretch exercises. My 11 year old drummer got a Bass for Christmas so I've got some teaching to do myself

Just booked a train from South Wales ...cheap... £12.50 to Paddington and £33 back first class .... Thought I'd need a bigger seat with the gear I'll bring back :-D I'm staying at travelodge London fulham if anyone is staying there and fancies a beer. PM me :-) £32 for the night...... I just took a look at a gretsch on sweetwater thanks. I used to get all my Harley parts from Chicago rather than Bristol when the rate was 1.7 or 2 dollars to the pound. Now it's about 1.5 I'm not sure there is much in it. The Bass is £829 from GAK but $900 from sweetwater, which is about £600, then there's shipping, visa fee, VAT, Import duty and usually a carriage fee of up to £20 this side of the pond...... But I guess all of that would be less than £229 so I might :-)

I've bought 4 basses on line with Thomann and not had a problem..my Fender AM Standard P was in its case mint

Wasn't Cardiff was it? They'll be getting a bass amp but someone did a grade 6 on it after me. Amaising :-(. No more grades for me.

I wish I could Spike but theres no way I'll get my gear on it Might wear a Dealer T though I should be OK hiding at the back ....

I'm sure I saw them at wolves poly in 1981 and they were great :-)

My 115 Deep cab arrived today

Not me Bert..should have taken my fender 15w bass amp ....anyway, they'll be changing it to a bass amp from now on. Amaisingly no one had complained before and someone did their grade 6 on it after me :-0

Ace, won my appeal and got awarded a merit for grade 3. got criticised for tone on my 3 pieces. The tone of playing a fender P through a 10w guitar amp wasn't going to sound good.... Nothing wrong with the tone of the bass ... Even if I played a wrong note the tone of that would be good

Found a reference to a 12v bulb on a forum, ordered 2 off eBay, took the head and bulbs to a local music shop lunchtime, went back by 5pm.... Guy says they were the wrong bulbs, showed me a far bigger bulb like a small tube with wire each side, says he had to slot the amp out of case, take all the knobs, fixings etc off the front of the head to get at the VU ...... Then says that he soldered on the 2 bulbs instead and here it is back for £20. Meanwhile still awaiting a response from the ashdown techs :-(

Hate to say it but as a newbie I remember songs by the tab numbers..maybe I should have been an accountant :-)
