1. Don't let the lack of aux in stop you buying your dream amp. That's daft. How about, buy the amp, the spend £30ish on a small mixer: http://www.dv247.com/studio-equipment/behringer-xenyx-502-premium-mixer--31558 Your iPod plugs in, so does your DI out of the amp. Headphones too. Easy. Job done.
2. Maggie Philbin??
3. Welcome Allie. I have actually slept in a gig bag, but that's another story. This is a great forum isn't it!
4. Hi H, glad you found your bass again. And us. Enjoy both
5. Don't try and cram arrangements etc into your head before the gig. You know the songs well enough by now, you'll be fine. Try and stay calm before you go on. And enjoy the pants off the whole experience And try to smile, look like you're having a good time!
6. I'll push ya!! Get it. If it doesn't do it for you, move it on. You're welcome
7.
What about the damneds or the sex pistolses, then?
And no unpleasant undertones either!
8. Thanks for the PMs, all answered. But the cab is sold pending the usual.
9. I work on a first come first served basis. Except, say, if I have a pub gig in for a Saturday night, that pub band accept that if I get a decent paying bigger gig for the same night with enough notice, I'll dep out theirs. I'm up front about it, it doesn't often happen, and it hasn't caused any problems so far. I also play in a bunch of bands, with very few clashes.

Compressors

I swear by my BBE Opto Stomp. A great soft knee optical comp. you can't tell it's on until you turn it off, then you notice the difference. Mine is one of the old yellow label ones. Apparently the new 'moustache' labelled ones just aren't quite the same.
11. It's great feeling isn't it! Enjoy
12. Bargain bump for the Ashdown.

Zoom B3

Just get one.........
14. I had one for a while. There's no point in me saying it was brilliant, or crap, as that's just my opinion. Yours will differ. What I will say is this, it doesn't have much variation of available sounds. But that is a common problem with most 2 knob filters. Have a look at the MXR M82, that's more versatile, and cheaper. Or if you've got lots of spare cash, the WMD Super Fatman.

Zoom B3

There's lots of love for the B3 around here. For best results stay clear of the factory presets, set up your own. The wet/dry blend is your friend here too.
16. I used a Standback for years and they're great. If I remember rightly, they say it'll easily support a 4x12 so it should do the job for you just fine. First impressions are that it doesn't look that strong, but don't be fooled, they really are. Mine still looks as good as the day I got it. And they fold up flat and will easily fit into a bag or the back of a rack case. I got mine to improve my stage monitoring with my old single 1x15 cab set up, and it did the job brilliantly. Instead of the backs of my legs getting all the bass, once the cab was tilted I could hear everything. But, if you have a separate head you won't be able to put it on the cab as it'll slide off. I had to stand my flightcased amp on it's side next to the cab. No big deal for me, it still did the job just fine. I don't use my Standback any more but I'll always keep it, just in case the need arises. A great accessory.
17. I know all about that. It sucks. If it's any consolation, it sold in under 20 minutes.
18. The Berg is sold. Ashdown still available.
19. ----- S O L D ----[s]First up is my Bergantino AE210. I bought this cab from fellow BCer steviebk six weeks ago. Although it's a fabulous cab I have done a few gigs with it and it's got a bit too much mid range for my taste. I've had it working with my HD112, but I think I'm going to get a second 112 instead. The cab is in tip top condition and comes with a Berg cover. It's rated at 400W at 8 Ohms. This is a really loud cab. And at 18kg it's dead easy to move around. Here's the original ad: http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 I'm asking £425, which is exactly what I paid for it.[/s] Second up is my Ashdown ABM 210T Compact II. I've had this for a couple of years and I just don't use it. It's rated 300W at 8Ohms. Swithchable tweeter too. It's in perfect nick and comes with a Roqsolid cover. £100 for this one. A bargain. I'm in London N4 and would prefer collection in person as shipping is going to be a pain, but I'm up for meeting anywhere not too far away if there can be a donation for my fuel.
20. Deep Purple's Highway Star. I rehearsed it once, about 10 years ago, for a gig that got cancelled. It was awesome. Never got to gig it though. Tonight though, I get to play Sir Duke for the first time live. The band is top drawer too so we'll be all over that
21. +1 to that!!
